I think that I'm going to make Songs of the Melody Blade a book *AND* a soundtrack, because I've always imagined Midnight and Staticlight having their own themes, as well as almost every other character that may become important in SotMB <3
Also I'm a composer, so how could I *not*?! 🤣
I hope you'll join me for the long ride that this will be. I *hope* I can see this through. I can't believe it's taken nearly five years to get to this point where I'm finally ready to tell the Melodiverse's first story. I have no solid foundation, this is going to be *rough*.
Oh I'm also trying to juggle the passion project of an OST for Lazuli Island. So wooo, multitasking!
I'll be very honest. I... never expected the Melodiverse to turn 4. And yet it's a very far cry from what I want it to be and I don't know what the future holds...
It's a strange limbo of writing creativity that I'm in. 😭

When a young goblin named Leshi who's afraid of large groups of people has her quiet little house broken into by some goblin criminals, she tries to shoo them off but to no avail, as she has no choice in the matter but to haul away with them, with the bribery of mysterious artifacts known as the Melody Gems.
With this bribery however, as each day the crimes committed grow more mischevious and full of tricks, Leshi considers reprimanding the misfits. But of course, with the legalities of it all and all of them being children, that wasn't bound to work.
Like the rest of the Melody Blade Saga, the rest of Goblin Theft Auto's stories' plots and summaries are in progress!

Leshi Desxia was a very young goblin, in the beginnings of her double digit years, who was averse to large groups of people.
Whether it was in the form of innocent family reunions or celebrations which posed no harm whatsoever, many gatherings of friends bickering amongst themselves or in some cases at each other, if a conversation was heated enough, gangs, and or criminals shadowed under the veil of night, she would not budge in going out of her way to avoid such situations.
Although by her own accord, her life was pretty lonely. Even with loving parents, Leshi’s fear of large groups was strong enough that every day felt like she was isolated in a prison of her own fears and anxieties.
However, all this changed, for what she assumed was the better, when one sunny morning she was awoken from her slumber to the sound of a resounding thud, and a wooden door being smashed open.

The Titania, which was the spacecraft’s given name, stood there boldly, like a valiant warrior posing. The sunlight reflected off the steel blue metal which acted as a barrier to gunfire and laser fire, which further presented the ship’s stature as marvelously momentous. The craft surely was a sight to behold.
The kids seemed to stare into the black abyss which was the cockpit windows spanning across from left to right, getting a slight glimpse at a rainbow of buttons inside the spacecraft. Those black windows were adjacent to that of an ethereal starless midnight sky. They were taunted by its height; it was like they were standing beneath a titan. Both of them being below average height for a child didn’t help matters in quelling the silent terror of laying their eyes on Titania’s seemingly massive stature as a spacecraft.

--MIDSCRYPTION AU SAGA--
Brief Info about the AU:
Midscryption is an Inscryption AU that crosses over with the Melodiverse. Many adventures are to be had, many games lost, and lessons learned through death and the significance of death cards.
This AU spans across four books (known as volumes), and potentially some short stories and or comics in the future. The books in order are: I. Challenger Midnight, II. The Wolf’s Epitaph, III. Mox of Melody, and IV. Filthy Beasts.
Seven different types of demons exist within the Melodiverse, all being based off the seven Melody Gems:
HARMONY (aka Sky)
RHYTHM (aka Earth)
ANARCHY (aka Fire)
DAY (aka Sun)
NIGHT (aka Moon)
ARCANE (aka Magic)
SHADOW / VOID (aka Astral)
Personalities
I. SKY DEMONS
Sky Demons are serene, good-natured beings, who despite residing in the Etherlands amongst the brothers of Sun and Moon and sisters of Tide and Flame and the other goddesses, and being far from tangible human contact, are one of the seven types of demons who admire humans and their inner life.
Sky Demons are very perceptive and intelligent, and are known to be very friendly and hospitable towards other demons and most humans.
II. EARTH DEMONS
Earth Demons have a very mysterious personality. They reside within the Earth underground, or sometimes they can crawl out from under their lightless shelter and perform the trick of transforming themselves into any land-dwelling creatures that's within distance of a nicely-cut field or forest, and scare people.
Earth Demons don't like to show their true form around other demons, and that's when they resort to a much more subdued appearance with muted earth tones and colors.
III. FIRE DEMONS
Fire Demons have a volatile personality. It mainly revolves around their love of chaos, and contrary to what many think, Fire Demons aren't regular demons. In fact, they're human souls, trapped inside a demon, and waiting eternally to be let out.
IV. SUN DEMONS
Sun Demons are meditative and empathetic. Much like the Sky Demons, they share some personality traits. (still working on their description)
V. NIGHT DEMONS
Night Demons are the most feared because of the biological curse they harbor. Being fueled by an evil kind of possession, most likely given to them by a midnight curse on their day of birth, they are known to have destructive episodes where they black out but when they come to, their surrounding environment is mildly destroyed. After the episode, they seem to forget what happened during it.
VI. ARCANE DEMONS
Arcane Demons are well known as tricksters, and they get this trait from the Earth Demons, but because the Arcane Demons' magic ability is dialed up higher, they're able to project great illusions able to trick the mind.
VII. ASTRAL DEMONS
And finally, the Void / Astral Demons. Their shapeshifting ability, of which they share with Sky Demons and Earth Demons, is greater to the point that they're able to shift into cosmic abnormalities or choose to assume the form of a black cat.
They're known to be the most mysterious and elusive out of all the demons and and they love spooking people.
Now that this is out of the way...
Time to introduce the demons!!
I. SKY DEMON
In the Etherlands, resides the Sky Demons which have ethereal ghost-like skin, rounded white-hued horns reflecting the purity of their personality, glowing blue eyes, and soft catlike paws as they're a type of demon that is fused with an animal (for this example, a cat).
Sky Demons are serene, good-natured beings, who despite residing in the Etherlands amongst the brothers of Sun and Moon and sisters of Tide and Flame and the other goddesses, and being far from tangible human contact, are one of the seven types of demons who admire humans and their inner life.
They're very perceptive and intelligent, and are known to be very friendly and hospitable towards other demons and most humans.

Earth Demons however, make their residence either underground in the dirt and stone or above ground hiding within the forests and trees with their trickery of transformation. This trickery enables them to assume the form of any land-dwelling creature and their appearance varies based on the creature. But because they don't usually like showing their party tricks to other demons, they can be found in a more subdued appearance.
This consists of dark green skin, stubby horns with grass and thorns grown over them, bright glowing green eyes and short but sharp claws which prove effective in scratching and clawing their way out of the ground if they happen to get stuck.
Earth Demons have a very mysterious personality. Deep in the Discordant Barrens, dwells the Fire-Demons, which although most people think are the usual regular demons, they're more than that. In fact, they're humans that either died having committed a horrible crime or played with a dangerous magic and found their way to the Discordant Barrens.
Due to the intense heat, their skin becomes charred over the many years they spent there. Their soul now trapped in a demon body, expresses the rage of being trapped by flaring up the body and heating up the skin intensely.
The appearance of Fire-Demons include, burnt and charred human skin which is partially healed thanks to magic, straight orange-hued horns, glowing dark red eyes, and sharp claws.
Fire Demons have a volatile personality. It mainly revolves around their love of chaos, and contrary to what many think, Fire Demons aren't regular demons. In fact, they're human souls, trapped inside a demon, and waiting eternally to be let out.
IV. SUN DEMON
Back up to the Etherlands in a higher region, resides the Sun Demons which mostly share the trickery of transformation with the Earth Demons, except for the fact that Sun Demons harbor the shapeshifting ability with sky-dwelling creatures (birds, bees, etc.)
The Sun Demon's appearance includes bright sun-bathed skin, sun-shaped horns, bright yellow eyes, and stingers on their hands and feet (like bees and wasps have) unless they shapeshift into a bird, which replaces the stingers with bird claws.
Sun Demons are meditative and empathetic. Much like the Sky Demons, they share some personality traits.
V. NIGHT DEMON
Night Demons are the most feared because of the biological curse they harbor. Being fueled by an evil kind of possession, most likely given to them by a midnight curse on their day of birth, they are known to have destructive episodes where they black out but when they come to, their surrounding environment is mildly destroyed.
After the episode, they seem to forget what happened during it. Usually these episodes would be triggered by fury and anger, but other times stress can cause them.
The Night Demon's appearance includes constellation-covered skin, spiky blue-hued horns, white glowing eyes, and long thin claws. Side note: These Night Demons are known to be surprisingly fluffy, like petting a cat's fur.
--THE MIDNIGHT CURSE--
⚠️ Note: NOT related in any way to Midnight (the character)
The Midnight Curse, is an urban legend in the Melodiverse telling how a group of teens became Night Demons, by tricking the Melody Gems. In punishment for that, their bodies were seared apart and transformed by the brother of the moon, Fengari.
The phrase: "biological curse" refers to the Night Demons, as a species, but many Melodiverse conspiracy theorists believe they can link it to the urban legend of the Midnight Curse, despite there being no similarities.
The Story
The story goes, that a group of young teens followed a very strange kid who seemed to be channeling the powers of demons and also just had weird vibes, according to them.
They followed this kid to the edge of entering a forest and he pointed out the Night Gem, which stood on a stone pedestal with white moon symbols burned into the rock. After convincing the group of teens to watch the kid do something, they were horrified as the kid lifted the gem above his head and shortly after, a blinding beam of light descended down upon him. It seared him apart, and then his body was transformed into a Night Demon before he promptly vanished.
VI. ARCANE DEMON
Arcane Demons are a more mischievous type of demon and they've been known to reside in mysterious places. Not much more is known about them, though other than the fact that they adore tricking people and are the most magically inclined.
Their appearance includes: purple skin, straight rainbow horns, rainbow eyes, and claws that can shift from dull to sharp. Their magical inclination, enables most of their features to change at a moment's notice.

Night Demons are one, of seven different types of demons (because mainly they're organized by the type of gem and their features they inhabit) that are widely known and feared as the most destructive of demon, not by their own accord of course.
Their destructive tendencies by their own accident, are known to be caused by "an evil kind of possession" that descends on poor souls who are naive enough to deny their existence.
BACKSTORY
In the ancient times of the Melodiverse, Night Demons were once humans that through their morbid curiosity towards the Melody Gems; being regarded as mystical artifacts back then, realized that they could play pranks on the gems and trick them.
A result of this, ended up with a human being sent to the Discordant Barrens (The Melodiverse's version of Hell), and their punishment was intense exposure to the gem that ended up transforming them into the Night Demons that are known through history in the present day: having blue-hued horns, being controlled by an evil kind of possession, having constellation-covered skin, and having long, thin claws.
Many people who form conspiracies on them, claim that the fact that Night Demons being called a "biological curse" is a lie and propose that it was the demons' fault in the first place for having an evil kind of possession controlling them at every waking hour.
One poor soul, who constantly tries to play off that his species is a "biological curse", is Midnight. He, of course couldn't escape having an encounter with an evil kind of possession, which is how Staticlight came about, along with also being the personification of Midnight's negative thoughts.
APPEARANCE AND FEATURES (featuring Twilight talking!)
Night Demons' features have been well established and set in stone ever since the first myths of them passed around through the coastal town of Concordia and the small urban city of Penwood, and have largely stayed the same.
In many books and texts in the Melodiverse, historians, students of Melodiverse history, and other people, have described their overall appearance.
Here's a description from Twilight, who is a student of Melodiverse history, and a budding rocket scientist:
About their appearance: "The appearance of Night Demons are as follows: They have constellation-covered skin, evident of their connection to the stars, hence the name, 'Night Demon', spiky blue-hued horns, white glowing eyes; a hint of the chaos they hold, and long, thin claws."
About their features: "Night Demons are known to have a rare feature that allows them to interface with the more chaotic Melody Gems. Specifically, Dev who is a night demon, has the Anarchy Gem and because of this, is able to assume a human form. Other Night Demons who have Gem Marks (which is the mark they have on their skin, denoting the secondary gem they inhabit at birth) have the ability to use their secondary gem's magic."
An interesting thing to note: "Night Demons, from what I've heard, are a surprisingly fluffy breed of demon. The feeling of their fur is like a cat's: warm, fuzzy, and soft. You would never think me to be the person that declares these things, yet I indeed am."

The Melodiverse: The Arcane, Part 1: The Melody Gems
In the Melodiverse's magic system, before we can get into the magic itself, here's a crash course on the elements and gems all known magic stems from.
There are seven elements and gems in the Melodiverse, all of which are, in turn:

THEIR EXPLANATIONS
Harmony: The Harmony Gem is one of two Music gems in the seven Melody Gems, mainly associated with Tylmera who is the goddess of harmony and music in the Melodiverse, and the only known bearers of this gem are the Sky Demons (mentioned here) and it is the catalyst for the barebones of musical magic, mostly specializing in the pacifying magic of healing.
Rhythm: The Rhythm Gem is the second of two Music Gems in the seven Melody Gems, associated with the ground, nature, and the many natural wonders. Along with this, this gem specializes in the offensive damage magic.
Anarchy: The Anarchy Gem is the third of the seven Melody Gems, and is associated with fire, arson, and just... chaos in general.
Sun: The Sun Gem is the fourth of the seven Melody Gems, and is associated with natural light, and the daylight cycle of day and night. However, like the Harmony Gem, in the context of magic users, the Sun Gem can provide the pacifying healing magic.
Moon: The Moon Gem is the fifth of the seven Melody Gems, and is associated with the night and it's serene nature, and it's magic harnesses the power of the moon. Though the moon magic isn't known to provide any effect in battle, hence why it's rarely used.
Arcane: The Arcane Gem is the sixth of seven Melody Gems, and is the main gem that all magical power stems from. It's magical capabilities range from creating illusions to changing the magic user's appearance to trick the enemy.
Astral: The Astral Gem is the seventh and final Melody Gem, and it's power draws off the magic of the stars, shadows, and other cosmic anomalies. It's magical capabilities are mysterious, but it's known current ability is it can summon mists of shadow and darkness that can damage, corrupt, or in extreme cases: make the enemy hallucinate.
