omg Charlotte I was telling Harker that I thought grey wardens should get to recruit Illario and then Harker told me that you posted it and I went back and checked and it’s true you did. I agree we should get to. I literally fell asleep thinking about it. I don’t have anything to add other than it would be entirely insane. I mean I guess if there’s one place where your reputation or ancestry doesn’t matter as much as your skills. Although I think even that’s debatable in the wardens given their inspiration from the night watch but— (I am dragged off stage)
Yesss, it's so Crunchy, if I do say so myself. Granted, my posting was very incoherent but it's still such an Important concept to me.
And Warden Rook doesn't get enough opportunity to use their right of conscription, except for the mayor at D'Meta's Crossing and even that's someone else's suggestion. They should get to do it more. Lucanis being in two minds over what to do with his cousin and here comes Warden Thorne with a steel chair third option.
Also he'd hate the Hossberg Wetlands 💖💖
But yeah. I rotate it in my brain a lot.
reaching out to my beautiful friend Charlotte to announce that the Galahad posting worked and I’m playing a warden rook at last
Haha, yes! Y E S!
36 and 45 and 47. For your rook :)
36. What would Rook say are their flaws?
He doesn't have much faith in himself, in large part because he is acutely aware of how small he is when it comes to players in Thedas. He's not a mage prodigy like Gwydion, or from a noble family. A witch out of legend didn't single him out like Flemeth did for Hawke. He isn't marked by divinity like Mabon was. He's the son of a milkmaid and wasn't the best mage apprentice and, while he feels he did the right thing, has proven himself to be more of a hindrance than an asset to the Grey Wardens.
It's something Varric picked up on very quickly and was trying to work on but well. then Solas happened.
45. Who was Rook’s closest friend before joining the Veilguard?
Galahad doesn't really have any close friends. It's not really something he's had an opportunity for as no one has really been in his life long enough. Evka and Antoine put up with him the longest though, so if he were to be pressed for an answer, they would be his answer by default (they come as a unit, you see.)
47. What’s Rook’s temper like?
Tightly reined in. He grew up in the Circle and was very conscious of how demons feed on and take advantage of a mage's emotions, especially rage demons, so he took the time to learn how to keep a handle on his temper especially. Unlike certain other Wardens who have a history with the Fereldan Circle, he doesn't repress everything but he isn't about to let his temper get the better of him either.
