Hey look i don't know if there would be legitimately anyone interested but i dunno i've been considering maybe taking web design commissions or something like that. i genuinely just want to be able to do some larger amount of work in the field and all of the freelancing sites just want ai slop work and I'm not down for that.
I'm a student so I may not be able to develop more complex sites at speed, but I've learned a lot through other projects and am actually fairly confident selling my skills.
if this is something you would at all be interested in let me know
If you don't have the media comprehension to recognize that the Amber Scene in Invincible is actually not the world-endlingly bad case of writing that people think it is, then honestly I do not trust your takes on the character.
It's almost as if she and Mark are fucking teenagers and written as real people with emotions. They're not going to handle everything 100% perfectly and you need to accept that yes, Mark did string Amber along and the superhero life not being a good enough excuse for her is honestly reasonable. Especially when he lied about it even in times where he probably shouldn't have.
Plus, it helps frame Omni-Man's standards and training of Invincible as flawed. No, he really shouldn't have prioritized absolutely every bit of his training over her. Especially when he's dealing with relatively low-level threats in a world filled with other heroes definitely capable of taking those on.
Sure, she wasn't 100% in the right, but from the perspective of everything that has happened in the show and the amount of times Mark stood her up or showed up ridiculously late, without ever telling her the truth while he still had the time to, without ever investing any amount of trust into her, is she not maybe justified in being upset?
"But Mark was being pressured not to tell her!" And Amber is supposed to know that how? Mark sure as fuck didn't tell her. He kind of can't. Not without revealing who Eve is, too. The situation is complicated and he has very few ways to properly defend himself, which happens sometimes.
Neither of them is fully "in the right" and neither of them have to be. The world is complicated and people do complicated things. Amber is not an irredeemable bitch because you think she was a bit too mean. I think the scene serves its purpose well.
Fascinated by this ad I got. Who are you and why are you looking at me with those emotionally indescribable eyes about this, Geoff? What fucking secrets do you hide?
Fortunaposting once again because how could you not adore her
I'm kinda done engaging in online discourse because i could not give less of a fuck about what problematic media people are engaging with or whether the thing I like is problematic and totally poisoning my brain
I'm an adult. I have critical thinking skills. I can tell when media is trying to tell me something and whether I agree with it or don't, and then enjoy it anyway. Worrying super hard about the purity of the media I consume is exhausting and I would rather just go "wow. I don't vibe with that" when I just don't vibe with something.
So yeah. I'll engage with media even if it's impure. I'll play persona 5 and enjoy its story and themes even if it's weird about its underage characters in a way I don't really enjoy. I'll engage with any other thing that crosses my path even if it depicts things in ways that aren't perfectly in line with my worldview. If I limit myself to what I would see as "perfectly pure media" I wouldn't be able to engage with anything.
Art is imperfect, impure, and often problematic. That's how the world is and always will be.
Hello my lovely mutuals I'm thinking about changing the focus of this blog a bit & having my art on a dedicated blog for ease of archive. What does this mean? well first of all since "Synthena" is the name I primarily go by online, i'd rather have it tied to my art than my silly lil ramblings. So that name is going to get ported over & the url for this blog is gonna become "bloodorangesunrise" because. i like blood oranges & im a fruit
might be a bit of an adjustment & i am sorry buuuut this is kinda how I wanna do it
"Shut up don't vote buy a gun"
and what about those of us who can't. What about those of us who are mentally ill and thus unable to pass background checks? What about those of us who would not be able to fight even with guns, because we lack the training required to fight even the police, let alone military, and those of us who even if they could get such training, are far too disabled to receive it?
There are many lives that will be neglected, lost, and made infinitely worse by this goddamn bullshit.
Every fucking president of the united states has been and will be complicit in genocide. The palestinian genocide specifically is, might I add disgustingly, built into american law and would require the cooperation of the whole of congress to remove. You don't get that without voting.
So grit your teeth, swallow your pride, sit your ass down and vote, or the blood of disabled people and minorities will be on your hands. You're not going to save the people of palestine by not voting, you're going to make their genocide even worse.
Get off your sanctimonious high horse or more people will die.
