Quadodo would probably only exist in captivity and never survive in the wild. When Doduo evolve it relies on the head that doesn't split to forage, eat, look out for predators and basically make all the decisions. When both heads split it can't eat and is helpless so when this occurs it has a 100% fatality rate in the wild. Only with special care in captivity can a Doduo survive and evolve into Quadodo.
I think they’d be extremely rare in the wild for that reason, but like albino animals (which have a higher death rate in the wild), I think it’s possible there’s some wild Quadodo, but that they have a much higher survival rate in captivity.
Vampire Ouji Pearl! For @thenerdbeast, although I want to color it properly when my inks dry enough to eraser...
Good points there. Also thinking about it, Meicoomon did tend to run away from Meiko on occassion and go on her little adventures, like we literally see her do that in Reunion so it could be possible she’s gone into the Digital World like a dozen times; only for a short while each time but after a few trips the infection could’ve begun snowballing indeed
Still I kind wish this had been clarified a little bit... Oh well
I honestly don't think Rowlet is going to evolve. Its personality doesn't seem to want to evolve and is content with how it is. It may be better battler than some of Ash's other birds but it would rather just take a nap and be cute. I would still like it to get its own development by learning new moves though, it still only knows the moves it initially knew upon capture. Leaf Blade would be nice, as would Shadow Claw or Pluck.
I get the corcern, and I’d lie if I said I wasn’t concerned at all.
Maybe I’ll try to write a list of reasons for why I believe that Rowlet will eventually evolve. There’s couple reasons.
- First and foremost, it’s the regional bird this series. That alone would guarantee it’ll evolve eventually.
- It’s been used in battles a lot. And I mean a lot. I agree it should learn a new move first, and I personally hope it to be Astonish. It’d fit with how fast and silent it’s flying is to learn a ghost-type move. It could learn leaf blade or another powerful grass type move upon evolving to Dartrix!
- Decidueye is extremely popular. Really. It would make sense to showcase Decidueye on an important character, and I firmly believe it to be Satoshi. (Edit on 22.2 - Denied, it’s least popular according to Nintendo Dream Poll. Wow. :p)
- The potential for new comedical quirks. As Rowlet, its quirk has been being a sleepy birb loving Satoshi’s backbag. I could definitely see a new quirkiness come up upon evolving to Dartrix, with constantly taking care of it’s hair, or some other funny stuff. Decidueye has great potential for fun quirk personality traits as well! (Pokken Tournament convinced me on this)
- I think in each region, the first pokemon Satoshi caught always evolved at least once. I checked this even: Caterpie to Butterfree, Chikorita to Bayleaf, Taillow to Swellow, Starly to Staraptor, Pidove to Unfezant and Froakie to Greninja. If Sun & Moon keeps the tradition up, this would support Rowlet evolving.
In fact, Chikorita seems to take a hell long time to learn a new move, let alone evolve in Johto Series. I got almost to the end of Johto Champions season, and it’s still the same Chikorita from when it was caught.
EDIT: - The Grassium-Z! That for me would support evolving! (Edit on 22.2 - It doesn’t deny evolving either, kind need to scratch this since I forgot torracat doesn’t have fire crystal to use)
But that’s all I can think of atm. I’ll add more if I realise I forgot something. But yeh. I’m either crazy with having faith in Pokeani with Rowlet, or end up being correct. We’ll see how this’ll end up :’D
