Some more The One Ring, playing adventures out of Oaths of the Riddermark. Ceorl got to actually use his fancy horsemanship skills, doing some cattle rustling of all things. One of the cool things they’re doing with the adventure books now is to have a nice mix of scenario types in each - a mystery-type story, a monster-of-the-week, a talkie story. It’s nice to get the variety and mix up expectations and be reminded of the range of Tolkien’s universe. The One Ring is a solid system and although the early books were a bit uneven, the line has really matured and is now quite solid. #rpg #theoneringrpg #cubicle7
I love these little drawings that @farrell7499 makes as records of our RPG adventures. This was the “Old Bones and Skin” adventure from the Bree sourcebook for The One Ring. It’s been quite a while since I’ve TOR and longer still since I’ve run anything at scale that wasn’t very heavily improvisational, so I was going back to a different set of skills which took a bit of adjustment for me. A lot of these books had been sitting on our shelves for a while so I’ve enjoyed getting back into it and I’ve been pretty pleased with how well it plays. We’ll probably finish out the Bree three-adventure mini-arc; then I’ve had an idea for a longer, epic campaign bouncing around in my head for a while, maybe I’ll spend some time developing it. #cubicle7 #theoneringrpg #theonering #rpg #rpggeek
