As an idea, could you do an urayuli? They're a myth from southwest Alaska, where children who get lost turn into massive, hairy monsters. They're usually docile, and sometimes even help people who are lost from suffering the same fate. Idk if you can do anything interesting with "big hairy person," so it's cool if you pass on this idea
