Book Recommendation: The Palestine Laboratory by Antony Lowenstein. l've waited for months to borrow this one from the library. On one hand, the wait was frustrating but on the other, it is comforting to know it is in high enough demand for such a wait because it's such an important book and it is long past time for people to become widely knowledgeable about the longstanding oppression and exploitation of Palestine by Israel. This is about how the technology and weapons developed and tested there are then sold around the world to then go on and harm and violate the rights of others, especially those in the global south. It's a fairly quick and engaging read. However, the subject matter is definitely the sort of thing to feel angry and appalled about. It is highly informative and to the point point but also includes a "for further reading" section, which I always appreciate from an author. If the 76-year occupation of Palestine is something you are just starting to learn about, this is definitely one of the necessary books to read. " Definitely adding a copy to my personal library just as soon as the paperback is released in the fall.
