My Photography Workflow Part 1 - Import / Edit (Select)
There are a few stages to this part of the workflow, the examples of which I am showing in Adobe bridge
First, open bridge and click on essentials tab
Then click on the camera icon to import the images you want
A new window opens giving you options for where to download from, where to download too, create sub-folder
In this case I’m downloading from my sd card to a sub folder - Inspired by Art - Still Life. I’m not renaming the files at this stage but I do want the images to open in Adobe Bridge and I also want to save a backup of my files to my external f: drive
You can then choose to click on advanced options which allows you to not include any images you don’t want. In this case I have unselected some photos I took of the the class powerpoint which I did not want included. Then click get media to download images
I now want to view the images I have in my folder so I click on the refine button and choose review mode
This takes me into review mode where I can get a better view of my images
To decide on which images to use I then went back to the folder, and below each image are a set of stars. I have put 5 - 3 stars against the images that I will definitely move to the next stage, plus options for replace
In this window you can see on the left how many of each starred images there are, and on the right the information pertaining to each image as you click on it
I am now ready to move on to the next phase, that is, optimising the images I have chosen
