Where There Is A Spark....There Is Fire
Looking around the Grand Ballroom Steve felt like an outsider. Tonight was meant to honor the FDNY and he was a cop. Ok so his partner, Sam, dragged him along because his husband Riley was a fireman and they both thought that Steve needed to get out more. Plus their mutual friend Natasha was a FDNY dispatcher as well.
Sam was off dancing with Riley and Natasha was off somewhere, which left Steve at the bar. He was downing a whiskey as he tugged at his tie. He wasn’t used to all the fancy events. He was more at home on the streets of Brooklyn, his home turf. Steve took another sip of his drink when Natasha began walking over.
“Starting early I see?” She raised a perfectly sculpted eyebrow.
He turned towards her and smirked. “Don’t you look look like a moving violation?”
“You know if you played for the other team, I might take that as a line. But I don’t have the equipment you’re looking for.” Natasha smirked as she cozied up to the bar next to Steve.
“Can’t I compliment you on your dress tonight?” Steve asked innocently.
“Nice try Rogers.” She said wryly. “So find anyone here that turns your eye or your dick hard?”
Steve sputtered as he took another drink of his whiskey. “Nat!”
“What? Can’t help you find a hot guy to make all your own?” She bat her lashes at him.
“NO!” Steve protested. “I can’t find a guy on my own, thanks.”
Natasha gave him the REALLY look. “When is the last time you were on a date?” When Steve didn’t answer, she smirked. “Uh huh.”
“I work a lot.” Steve argued.
“So does everyone in this place. Yet a lot of them are married.” She pointed out. Just then she smirked as she nudged Steve and nodded towards a guy walking towards them. “Now here is a guy for you. He’s charming, smart, funny, a little bit of a bad boy and look at him, he’s gorgeous.”
Steve whipped around to see the guy walking towards them. Natasha wasn’t wrong, the guy was gorgeous. But usually guys like that were too good to be true. “Nat come on, how do we even know he’d be interested. He probably has a wife or a girlfriend.”
“Trust me, he doesn’t.” Natasha smirked. She raised her hand and waved. “Hey Bucky!”
