“Mhm...” Jade nodded absentmindedly as he cleaned his glasses off with a cloth. The meeting was an utter bore, the man presenting currently was uninteresting and bland just like the drivel that was currently leaving his mouth. When would the meeting end? No one could say, but it was clear that everyone else in the room was just minutes away from falling asleep.
It was a god send when the presenter finished up. Everyone clapped polity, but unenthusiasticly, and stood from their seats, hurriedly making their way back to their offices or to a bar so they could drink themselves into a stupor. Jade simply stood and strolled back to his office to finish up the last stack of paperwork on his desk.
Perhaps it was just bad luck, but when the Colonel returned to is office the stack of papers had somehow multiplied by three. Jude took a deep breath and rubbed at his upper lip, gazing at the papers in thought. The life of a solider was never an idle one after all, and while he knew it was his duty to do the damned papers his neck was stiff from sitting in a chair for two hours straight and staring at the same place for the same duration of time.
The bespectacled man grumbled under his breath but he walked over and planted his butt down in his chair, cracking his knuckles slowly and attempting to do the same to his neck before being abruptly stopped by a sharp twinge of pain. Being old was a pain both literally and figuratively.
