Book of the Raven: Act I: I Am The Raven: Chapter 1: The Arrival: Section 8
Next I turn to the Christian Priest, cowering in his Chapel next to the Clan Hall. “Come out you priest of the false god Christ!” I bellow, my voice echoed by the Horde of Ravens above me and supernaturally loud. The fat Gaul walks out of the chapel, holding up one of his Crosses, hoping and praying for the support of his ‘god’, which will never come. I send the cross flying with a simple flick of my wrist, the power of The Goddess still coursing through my veins thickly. I grin and grasp the portly man with the Hand of The Goddess, squeezing him until he pops like one of the boils on the face of a leper. I walk into the chapel, throwing the relics of Christianity into the blaze of the fire in the hearth. I decimate all traces of Christianity in the village, and then I return to the Clan Hall.
Tiarnach is addressing his people, telling them of what he experienced when the Goddess spoke to him. As I enter the Clan Hall, he sees me and immediately orders all the people to return to their daily tasks. With the Hall devoid of clansmen, Tiarnach addresses me; “I thank you greatly for guiding us back to The Goddess. I invite you to stay with us and be our Priest.” I smile. This is what the Goddess meant when she said I would be gone from her presence for many years. I immediately responded; “It would be my honor to shepherd your Clan in the ways of The Goddess. May I use the Chapel as my abode and sanctuary?” I feign humility. This chieftain needs to feel in control, powerful, for him to be useful to The Goddess. “Yes, you may Fiach Dubh, and I see you already have servants, spoils of your Battle with my former Champion, Brennus. His prowess in Battle will be missed.”
