String Theory by Jesse Janz
The world is unravelling like a spool of yarn batted by the cat, unravelling like the sleeve of this sweater, unravelling like the story we’ve been telling ourselves to help us sleep at night.
We find ways to gather pieces of the day’s treachery and wrap a blanket around the shivering mass. In lieu of anything feeling helpful, we braid the strands into a bracelet to keep our hands from staying idle. We take the string and tie it around our fingers so we don’t forget
what it feels like to hold the unravelling world in our hands.
