between belated indie bookstore event hopping & starting a new job, I've been too scattered to post study sessions this week. fell behind on a schedule I made for myself, though upon reflection it looks like it was not based on accurate estimates of progress anyways :') giving myself space since I'm adjusting to a new schedule. for those with exams and end of term work, I wish you ease and gentleness <3

My thesis film “The Prince’s Test” will be released next week on May 12th! I’ll be posting some concept work for the film ‘til then, let you guys catch a glimpse of how the characters and the world of the film were made. 

This one is for my lead character Yaeri, a seamstress-in-training at the celestial court, a castle above the clouds of a fairy tale Korea. Her original outfit used to be much plainer, but I changed the color from tan brown to green to reflect her standing with the other seamstresses, the more senior of whom wear darker greens.

today was my first warm day of the season! reviewed my progress/pace in the past two weeks and set a new goal for the next two: hoping to finish translation drafting the poetry section. we'll see whether that's reasonable . . .

did some drafting and goal-setting today. had a dreary morning but the sun came out this afternoon. it's a wonder what moving your body around outside can do, something I would like to remember better.

hey hey i know that i haven't updating as much here cuz \\*~THESIS~*// but just to give a fuller picture: whoo bOY has this been a long coupla weeks. easily 12+ hours of work daily to finally get inking done today on this 5-minute film, and thanks to my colorists i only need 16 scenes to color on my own, which thanks to some nifty tvpaint tricks i found through some easter miracle i think will be great! with some comping work done on top of that (which should take bout 4-6 hours) i will reasonably have this ready by the deadline. so looking forward to sharing this with you guys; this baby's still a work in progress, but it feels incredible to see just how far i've come.
