Ada smiled as she looked outside at the pouring rain and the lightning cascading across the sky in all sorts of patterns. The weather was just so beautiful but…
She turned to see Anastasia staring into the fire intently, shivering slightly and every time the thunder crashed, she would flinch. Ada grabbed a blanket from the window seat and put it around Anastasia shoulders before sitting down beside her.
"It’ll pass soon, I promise. You can stay as long as you need to. I’m not gonna kick you out, especially not in this weather." She smiled and held out a cup of tea to her. "If you can’t drink it, it will at least warm up your hands."
