⚠️Although protected in his cell, he noticed that the other inmates intimidated him, especially those who, with their radicalism, ridiculed and insulted him. His fear seemed to frustrate him. Many times a day, especially as they passed by his cell, the inmates threatened him or spat on his window. They never stopped.
Here are some descriptions of Jeff's life in prison taken from an inmate's book.Immediately after Dahmer arrived, the verbal abuse and threats against him began. "If I ever see you alone, I'll kill you, you racist pig!" one inmate yelled. The shouting and jeering intensified.Dahmer didn't say a word. An inmateasked him what he did with all his victims. No response. More questionsand jeers followed, such as, "Did the maleparts taste good?" or "Did you feast on allthose feet you had at hand?" Dahmerremained silent. The questions, theswearing, the threats, the jokes, and thecomments continued and grewlouder. The noise continued all afternoon. When Jeff received his tray, some of the inmates began shouting again. "This tastes better than human flesh? Which tastes better?" As before, Dahmer did not answer. They continued. “Hey, Jeff, do you prefer dark meat or white meat?” “I definitely preferred dark meat to white meat!” one of the white men mocked. “Bro, Jeff ate more red meat than white,” a Hispanic inmate said, laughing. There was no sound from cell 1. After a few minutes, a man yelled, “Hey, Jeff! How’s the carcass?” This time, to everyone’s surprise, Dahmer replied, “Thick,” he said, “delicious and tasty.” Right after dinner, the clamor resumed. “Did you eat all the meat on the tray, you animal?” They continued calling him a racist and making other derogatory remarks that came to mind. After I showered, other inmates walked past Dahmer’s cell. They stood in front of his door and stared at him, as if he were a caged animal on display. That night, during and after showers, the inmates threatened and taunted them again. Jeff didn't respond a word. His silence enraged them, so they shouted insults and angry words. When the inmates returned, they slowed down at Dahmer's cell, and it was the same as always: they hurled abusive and threatening language at him. I don't know how Jeff could endure it every day.Although protected in his cell, he felt intimidated by the other inmates, especially those who, with their radicalism, ridiculed and insulted him. Their fear seemed to frustrate him. Many times a day, especially as they passed by his cell, the inmates threatened him or spat on his window. They never stopped.
