Yooo... You got any tips on memorization? I'm trying to memorize a three page monologue by Monday.
Oh dear, sorry I saw this so late!
I usually use three different techniques, depending on the length of the material and the time I can spare.
1) (and definitely my favorite) I copy the material by hand, step by step, three times - and read it out loud afterwards. I’ll copy the first paragraph thrice, reading it out after every turn, then move on to the next one. Maybe this would be useful for parts you just can’t remember? The difficult ones?
2) I read, over and over again. While I read, I try to structure the text and assign different colors and imagery to each part - my texts always look like rainbow coloring book barf. When I have to recall the text, I try to remember color & imagery used which usually helps me out.
