> So are we still down for tonight? That is, if I don’t stay with Waltz for a sleepover. I know you don’t like finicky people scheduling things with you, but it’s been a while since I’ve seen her.
> No. Believe it or not, I’m the one who has to cancel. We believe that we’re coming close to a breakthrough in our research, so I have to stay overtime. It may be a few days. > Assuming Rap doesn’t come by and ask what’s going on, that is, and knowing him that’ll happen whether I tell him about this or not. > Have fun with Waltz, by the way.
> Alright. Message me when you’re done so we can reschedule. I’ve been dying to see “The Texas Chain Saw Massacre,” I’m still surprised we haven’t gotten to it yet, but it can wait a bit longer. > I’ll tell Waltz you said hi.

Time figured it was highly improbable for him to encounter someone with worse social skills than he did. Years of being somewhat hostile to most of one’s family tends to make friendly communication difficult. Yet here Crash was, speaking to him rather bluntly about what his intent was. He didn’t even have to ask!
Well, that made things a lot less awkward for Time.
“Good plan. I’m sure that’s an arrangement you and I can manage, should we dedicate ourselves to it. Is that all you came for?” No, wait, there had to be small talk, or some attempt at a conversation. What were they supposed to do now?
“… I’m assuming you didn’t think this through very well, did you?”
Thankfully for Time, Crash had a habit of being extremely blunt and honest. He wouldn’t exactly mind Time’s lack of social skills since he wasn’t very good at being friendly with DLNs or people he didn’t really know in general. That was more Star’s thing.
“Yeah, that’s pretty much it.” Crash replied, looking down at the ground and kicking his foot a little before he looked back up. “You don’t talk like I’d expect you to. You’re, what, twelve?”
It was less of a jab and more of a genuine question. The DWN didn’t think that it would cause any negative reaction. Then again he wasn’t exactly tactful either.
“What?” Crash asked, frowning as he narrowed his eyes. “I thought it out! All we gotta do is get along, right? That shouldn’t be very hard, even if you’re a DLN...” He crossed his arms, closing his eyes and looking off to the side as he pouted slightly. It wasn’t until very recently that he had been less hostile toward DLNs, much less trying to be friends with them. It was...A work in progress.
