Peggy doesn't really go out that much, she's experienced the world freshman year of college so she doesn't need to really experience it more, but she can't help it. There are some nights when you just have to go out.
She should tell Howard?
No, he doesn't need to know, and if he texts her or anything she'll just tell him she's having a night out with the girls.
A little white lie never harmed anyone.
Besides he doesn't own her. She can do what she wants.
Going through her clothes she's pretty sure her roommate's already out and probably won't come home on this thirsty Thursday night, so she pulls out the drawer she doesn't allow anyone in. It's filled with clothes she shouldn't own, that they're too revealing and her parents will kill her and Bex would be shocked to know she has them.
Regardless she decides on an off the shoulder sheet top and a strapless bra that compliments and a pair of high waist shorts that are starting to get ratty around the edges. Oh well.
Pulling them on she decides she's good to go once she applies her red lipstick and simple make up and then her hair falls into place and now shoes. She settles on a pair of heels that she'll walk in perfectly fine, perhaps she'll lose them somewhere in the night but oh well. She can get more.
It's a few hours in when she finds herself at a frat party.
Which isn't really her style, but why not.
The music isn't necessarily her favorite, but the way her hips move back and forth keeping perfect rhythm makes her prime target for the eyes of men. She takes one drink and tilts it back as she takes a break from dancing, leaning against a doorway, watching, taking it all in. It's...well, it's a flashback to her past.
But every time I tell her I want (more)
She just closes the door.

Ten years. Ten years, two months, and five days to be exact since Peggy Carter has last seen James Montgomery Falsworth. It isn't that she didn't want to see him, it was just safer to avoid the Commandos as much as possible, especially the second in command. Especially someone she may have had feelings for.
She needed to sort her own mind and bury herself in her work. Her past was her past, and the Commandos were in that past.
The only exception had been Jim Morita, and that was because she couldn't keep that man away from her. The two had shared a moment when he found her sobbing after the plane crashed, and she had allowed him in for that reason.
But here she was in England, her home, and the location of the last Commando to invite to the Infinity Formula project. Jack.
Thinking about it she could still picture his blond hair under that stupid red beret, and how it was perfectly styled without it, and blue eyes that just knew. The mustache she could live without, but she still pictured it perfectly on him, and she sat back, closing her eyes at the mental image.
"Ma'am?" The voice of the driver brought her back to reality and she opened her eyes quickly and tilted her head. "We're here."
Looking up at the manor she felt her stomach tighten and knot itself. She had two options, leaving the invitation in her hands for him to come to tea, or to do so right now. Tea and discussing. She decided on the invitation, it would be better for both of them and so she left it and waited.
Dressed in a lovely, simple dress Peggy waited patiently to see if Jack would show. Agent Carter had been the signature but there was no way that it was her and not another Carter, so she sipped at her cup of hot tea that she would refill when Jack arrived. If Jack arrived.
That's when she sees the door open (the bell on it jingles she knows, she can see it move, but the sound of people and space between them is enough to make it silent) and she looks to see him. There's a way the corners of her mouth curl up in that warm smile, and she smooths out her dress as she stands to wave him over to her. He spots her and then motions to the waitress before walking over.
Does she embrace him?
Does she shake his hand?
Before she can decide mentally her body decides for her and her hand comes out in an offer to shake. Jack takes it and the grip is warm and firm, and after the shake he curls it up to his lips and kisses her knuckles before then offering for her to sit, and she can feel her cheeks heat up. "I apologize for the short notice and not inviting you myself." She begins, but he gives her a look, and she's forgiven, she knows that. "I'm here on official business, unfortunately, but we can still catch up."
The way his blue eyes take her in she knows that this was a long day coming and she both loves and hates it. She could have reached out sooner, but she was caught up in so many things. "Agent Carter," Oh the glare he gets for that one, and the cheeky grin she gets in response.
They are quite the pair.
"I understand." Is all he tells her, and then nods for her to continue as he prepares himself a cup of tea.
So she begins talking about the project in a quiet tone and when she finishes she watches Jack, picking up her cup as she realizes she hasn't had a sip the entire time she's been talking and now her throat is dry due to it. "Well?"
"You already have everyone else on it?" A nod. "And yourself?"
"Me? Oh, no. Izzy was trying to convince me but no, no. I'm not one for the idea of eternity." She hasn't been one for eternity for about ten years now.
The way Jack sets down his cup and leans forward causes her face to heat. "Take it with us." There's a hint of something she can't name in his voice and she can't help but nod. That something has convinced her completely, and the false promise she made Izzy is now a real promise.
Eternity doesn't seem so bad now.
theuniongentleman replied to your post:{What is it with age gaps with the Carters? Like huge age gaps}
It’s 27 years between Peggy and Jack.
Well lets say Sharon is 34 and Amanda was 40 when she had her ummm that would make Harrison 25 years older than her. I think if you're a Carter girl your motto is join the family business date someone twice your age. (I know that is an over exaggeration but hey it rhymes)

So laser tag isn't exactly Peggy's thing, it isn't something she'd think she'd be into at least. Running around in the dark with a sensor on her chest trying to hide from people?
Okay so maybe it's exactly her kind of game.
The boys of the fraternity don't know that, and besides it's better than sitting at home on dead week. Okay. She'll partake. Just this once, and she's not going to let it become a normal thing that they do.
Plus wearing bright pink in the dark is a total give away so she's changed into a black shirt with the Phi Mu letters on the back, so she'll have shot you from the corner and then run off and that's when you'll see her letters. She's the only one who wears letters anyways.
That's where she is right now, backed into a corner with her gun held down by her side, finger on the trigger and waiting. She's good at stealth, she's come up on Jack in complete silence plenty of times, startling him on accident.
Speaking of Jack she wonders where he is in this darkened maze. He's her biggest competition, no offense to the others.
She wonders how perfect making out in here would be.
No. She's with Howard Stark, no thinking of Jack like that.
But she can't help it. His lips are incredibly soft surprisingly and it's dark and just...
Her thought process is cut off by movement, there, in the dark. She brings up her gun and pulls the trigger and the sound of a hit and a swear makes her smirk as she ducks to the right and around the corner.
Stopping is stupid, but she can't help it, she doesn't know which way to go. Left right or straight.
That's when she feels cold plastic on her spine and it causes her to shiver, but then she feels lips beside her ear and a whisper. "Should I pull the trigger?"
Jack, you sly fuck.
"No." It took everything she had not to let out a less than appropriate sound for public at the idea of this. It was inappropriate and wrong to feel this way about a gun to her back, a whisper in her ear, and Jack in general. He was bad news. Such bad news.
"There's a price."
"Oh?"
"One kiss."
It wouldn't be just one kiss if she went through with it, she knew that and he did too.
"You know I'm with Howard."
"He doesn't have to know."
"Just one?"
"If you can resist a second or more."
Damn him. Damn him straight to hell. Turning she pulled him down to her, pressing her lips to his in a heated kiss that did not last that long and a teasing smirk before bringing her own gun up and shooting him in the sensor.
"All's fair in love and war, Sweetheart."
