13 & 14!
crucial muse development questions // accepting xoxo
13. what does your character pretend or try to care about ?
god. everything ? generally ? this is an immense weak point of her’s that she’s desperately not proud of, as she was never forced to pursue any social chains or to emulate any feelings since all the influential people in her life were very catatonic in nature. which molded calypso into a something of a husk. any emotion palpable to her she has a hard time comprehending and processing. though she can assimilate something like compassion, empathy is harder. so she can come off as socially inept / awkward, she overcompensates this by putting emphasis on her outwardly obnoxious and flawed attributes so she can try to come off as more sociable and ‘purposely-graceless’ instead of, unintentionally graceless. it’s not so much as apathy or indifference that’s rooted deeply in her than it is just the supreme lack of understanding and not being able to grasp the conceptions correctly and properly. but she tries! a lot of it stems from how she was nurtured by her environment but honestly, it would have been always a disposition inside her as well irregardless of the abundant outside factors.
14. how does the image your character tries to project differ from the image they actually project ?
fortunately the calypso you see is the real calypso! every bump in her step and every hesitant stutter she’ll ever voice comes from a place of sincerity. she can’t really project a different image since she’s always melded and coded herself to be this way, although she’ll try to be nicer than she really is—- especially to guys. there’s a different kind of way she treats them and it all totally has been guided from her deep-seated issues with the male figures in her life. her kindness with guys instinctively come from a place of her trying to appease them though you’d have to really analyze the subtleties in her notions to really tell; but with gals she’s definitely a lot more spontaneous and isn’t just attempting to be nice to get on their good side. but generally speaking, there’s no lap between trying to project a persona / actually projecting a persona. this is the real calypso. all raw and mighty
