Pride swelled in Theron’s chest as he rendered one Jonas Balkar speechless for perhaps the second time in his life. “I thought you knew everything that happened in your ‘backyard,’” he said.
“Nar Shaddaa? You two got married within taxi distance and I didn't get invited? You wound me, Shan.”
“Eh, it was a bit spur-of-the-moment. Wasn't sure you were free.”
“I'd have cleared my schedule. So it sounds like that ring went over pretty well then, huh?”
“I... didn’t actually give it to her yet,” he muttered sheepishly, running a hand over the back of his neck. “Getting married kinda came up in conversation and we decided there was no time like the present.”
“That doesn't sound quite as romantic as you'd planned.”
Theron’s face softened and he smiled gently as memories played in his mind. “It was perfect.”
