Are ants in Numenera different from ants now? Are they sentient? Do they actually understand how the slides in their little house work and go down them intentionally, or are they just falling down the slides? (also happy pride month!)

Numenera ants aren’t quite sentient the way that our ants are: They’re senti-ant.

This means that they’re exponentially better at things--stronger, faster, sturdier--than their predecessor ants; they’ve developed a sort of Spider-Man spider sense, but for ants and all the time. And ants now can already lift 10-50 times their body weight and organize feats of teamwork that corporate seminars can only dream of. Imagine what ants who have been slowly but steadily evolving over, like, 6 apocalypses can do. 

They can appreciate slides, that’s what.
