Maybe this is a crazy conspiracy theory, but I think Chuck lied about the flashbacks that Sam saw after he shot him. He said that those were not drafts but memories of the other worlds where the Winchesters "did as they were told".

The only proof I have is that in one of the flashbacks Sam was possessed by Lucifer and was wearing the same awful white suit as endverse!Lucifer, but Lucifer never actually bothered with a white suit regardless of his vessel (including Sam).

And I say that is proof that Chuck was lying because the endverse was actually fake too. Zachariah didn't send Dean 5 years into the future, he sent him in a fake future to convince him to say yes to Michael. And how do I know it's a fake future that Zachariah made up? Because Chuck is there, and I firmly believe the real Chuck would've staged his own death to be able to watch from the sidelines. But since Zachariah didn't know Chuck was God, he thought it would be a nice touch to have a prophet in this story.
