honestly I am so glad I am on tumblr because asa teacher when I'm teachig my own class I'm gonna be like here is the mini library. we got lots of comics too. here are stimming toys. here you can work in a calmer corner (if the room allows that option) or at least get some noise cancelling. We're gonna have a ritual fir the beginning of every day and for the end, yes you are allowed to write with your pink glitter gel pen if this makes the exercise more exciting for you

#this was mostly about neurodivergency but tumblr has brought so much to my awareness #also about disabilities or chronological illnesses etc that are barely mentioned in uni which feels like it should be a crime #everyone who isn't your nt able bodied student is only mentioned in abstract phrases like lesson planning has to be done with consideration #of the special needs some students might have #without EVER actually saying what some of the more common special needs ARE #like yes i cant learn every detail of every neurodivergencyor disability but they could at least give an overview of the general categories #and how we as teachers can approach them/ how we can design our lessons/ which extra help we can give to make the classroom as pleasant as #possible for everyone #and that's exactly the thing... our government decided to make schools inclusive some years ago... meaning every student no matter #which disability etc has the right to be taught in the normal public schools. no extra school. no extra class.#which is nice #it sounds fine #but the government forgot to ALSO implement changes in the budget of schools / the education of teaching personnel etc #so we have schools with suddenly very mixed classes and the classrooms aren't made for these kids and the teachers don't know what the fuck #theyre doing #so sounds like a great achievement of the government 'yeah WE made schools inclusive' but because apparently they don't know what schools #actually need to be inclusive they just made chaos #but yes.#at least in my class when i do have one in the future I'll try to make it a safe space for all my students
