I know he’s got his own account now (yes, yes…I’m one of those), but this snug was too sweet not to share on mine, as well. • • He slumped over onto my shoulder & was sawing logs within 30 seconds. I can’t even with this dog. • • Eleven weeks ago Brewster was at a shelter in Chowchilla, his name among those at the top of the euthanasia list. Lucky for him (& for us), the folks at @ilovefamilydog scooped him up just in time & brought him north. Today marks seven weeks since we brought him home, since he had to sleep in a kennel instead of a bedroom, since his life was without permanence, & since he didn’t know what home meant. He’s still scared of a lot of things & is working so hard to accept that the world is a kind place, but one thing he has learned & fully accepted into his heart is that when we’re together, he is safe. He is so tender, gentle, sweet, & warm-hearted. He deserves all the love, softness, encouragement, & reassurance this life has to offer; I’m so grateful I get to be the one who gives them to him.
