not gonna lie i thought of you IMMEDIATELY when i saw it so i'm glad you saw this!!
I remember when we ran out of pour over filters and started using the brown retail ones. These, as it happened, sucked hard core. There were tons of grounds in every pour over we did. So we ended up using actual big white coffee filters for pour overs.
That happens at my store... I did my first pour over with the big white ones. It sucked.
theywillseeuswaving replied to your post: Let me explain something to you coffee shop au...
Started one with my coworkernow were dating.
when i say coffee shop AUs, it usually means a character is/starts working at a coffee shop and their love interest is a customer as opposed to a coworker (because then the coworker plot line can be used universally anywhere, and not specifically a coffee shop). for the most part, a customer/employee relationship is p difficult to start because there's unspoken boundaries and also limitations on employees as to what's deemed appropriate, but that aside, i find in my coffee shop (i don't work at a starbucks, i work at a smaller company) that's more cafe style (we have a kitchen that cooks food, etc.) there isn't much time to even stand and flirt with a customer.
i did qualify my claim with "coffee shops that aren't starbucks" because the demographic for a starbucks customer is much more excessively ranged than a cafe like mine, or even a coffee klatch, as it's more "mainstream" and a younger crowd tends to like going there. however, most fanfics i read that are coffee shop aus don't take place in starbucks.
but it's super cool that you and your coworker have that kind of romance! i don't think i could ever date someone i work with; i've done it before and i tend to get snappy at them because i don't want people to think that we're not working or we're too easy on each other.
Is there a gif of Serena saying "I eat everything" from the thanksgiving episode? I'm watching it now, it's adorable.
here you go :p
gif not mine
I have a question that I was reminded of by your last post. They showed the skyline a lot in the first few seasons (1-7) when it included the twin towers. Did they stop showing it after 2001 for that reason, or was it still shown?
Quite interesting, this is what wikipedia says:
Several shots of the Twin Towers appear in the introduction and several establishing shots of New York City, some episodes, all including the Twin Towers, for Friends (1994–2004) over the first seven seasons (1994–2001). Pictures of the Manhattan Skyline featuring the World Trade Center also feature on many DVD cases, and DVD box set cases.[18] Every season had a slightly different opening sequence. A new shot of the skyline was shown with the title card; some seasons showed the Twin Towers, others the Empire State Building and Chrysler Building. Later seasons after 9/11 still briefly showed the Towers. The original and main title card used for later seasons has a portion of both towers visible, yet they are not very obvious. The last episode (2004) even included one of the most commonly seen pieces of stock footage, a shot of Lower Manhattan in the late afternoon under the Brooklyn Bridge, panning as far as the South Tower. As of 2007 the Twin Towers are still being shown in establishing shots throughout earlier seasons in reruns, and have not been edited out.
So basically, yes, they kept showing it.
Pregnant Rachel is my favourite Rachel.
I think the reason I loved it so much was that Rachel's one main negative trait (after she stopped being a daddy's girl) was that she was a bit of a push over, and that is my main self-confessed flaw. So when she was pregnant she wasn't taking any crap from anyone and I loved that!
