This is a project by Brazilian designers Thiago Lacaz and Mateus Valadares. OPD was curiously close to several steps in the creation and development of the work. We were all together at the WT/ISIA workshop in 2012–where they designed the project–in what turned out to be an amazing process. They worked intensely during 2 weeks, diving deep into the structure of language and grammar, only to pull together a coherent system in the last 24 hours. Literally turning day to night, they delivered a very convincing project on the final day. This project went on to win an award at the 10th Annual Brazilian Graphic Design Biennial, where I was was on online judge for the early round of filtering in good work. They got my vote not for our friendship, but because of the caliber of the work produced. Check featured works on Mateus's website to see more examples.
