I love Misha, you all know I do, but if the main reason you’re sad about the Trump presidency is because of Misha being upset, then you are missing the point of why he went and put himself out there in the first place.
He spent his energy advocating for Hillary because he was worried about what a Trump presidency would mean for minorities. If you care about Misha and what he stands for, then you should redirect the focus of your concern on helping the people who are now in jeopardy. Misha would want and appreciate that.
I’m not saying you shouldn’t be sad about Misha crying about the results or that it’s wrong to be thankful towards him, but he shouldn’t be prioritized over the people who are facing danger and discrimination because of what has happened.
Misha is all about taking action and making tangible positive results happen so I think the best way to show how much we appreciate all that he’s done is to follow his example and do things that make a real difference.
If possible, donate money to organizations that provide assistance and resources to marginalized groups, like immigrants or women or poc or the lgbt community. You can also donate to environmental groups that are fighting to reverse climate change. Here’s a helpful list of organizations to consider: [x]
If you see casual racism, sexism, or any other type of discrimination, don’t let it pass. Here’s an example of a simple and effective way of standing up to any harassment you observe: [x]
You can also make a donation to Random Acts.
Do something to help these people.
Do something to make change for a better future.
This is the way we show Misha that we are the fandom of good, kind, passionate people that he described us to be, that he believes us to be.
