Thinking about how the devs made a specific note to mention a boarding school directly associated with the fellowship. Thinking about how this implies that ironeye would have some connection to them. Thinking about how boarding schools are usually places prestigious parents send their kids, usually just to get them off their hands. Thinking about how ironeye was probably indoctrinated though some sort of system that the fellowship controls, like a cult, that he was sent to a boarding school and then taken in by this cult. Thinking about how he was assigned a “guardian.” Thinking about the mentor/mentee relationship he had with Isolde, and how she probably loved him like a mother. Thinking about how Isolde wanted so desperately for ironeye to be free of the fellowship, and how she died never knowing if he would. Thinking about ironeye forgetting his past at the roundtable and then remembering that his guardian is dead. Thinking about how he recklessly follows in the footsteps of his other self because he can’t imagine a freedom outside of what his circumstances allowed him. How Isolde inadvertently doomed him. How.
