full conversations using only their eyebrows and pointed looks;

(being asked to please keep it down during these silent conversations by the other marauders);

sirius telling remus outrageously revamped muggle fairytales when he’s ill during the lead up to the full moon;

remus pretending not to notice books of poetry and other muggle fiction disappearing to sirius’ bed, only to be returned a few days later with a chocolate frog on top of it;

sirius conveniently falling out of bed, tripping over his trunk, or ‘just coming back from the loo; sorry, did i wake you?’ whenever remus is having a nightmare;

remus never giving sirius any notes if he skipped class, but asking if sirius could help him study for the missed class by helping him do drills;

sirius rewriting potions instructions for remus so they’re easier to understand (complete with animated drawings which spontaneously explode or write out dirty words if remus misses a step);

remus writing letters to sirius over the holidays and giving them to him once they’re back at hogwarts so sirius doesn’t get into any more trouble for talking to a half blood;

(sirius keeping all the letters in a secret compartment in his trunk so he can read them over the next holidays and write replies, which he won’t give to remus until they’re back at hogwarts again (and he gets the next lot from remus));

padfoot curling up on remus’ feet as often as he can get away with;

remus adding extra food to his plate whenever sirius runs late to dinner, just in case he misses it;

sirius taking detentions for remus when it gets close to exams, so remus doesn’t panic over the missed study time;

sirius and remus having no idea they’re arguing anymore, and everyone being so used to their bickering that it’s terrifying when they aren’t;

sirius tricking remus into riding his bike with him;

(remus tricking sirius into thinking he’s been tricked into riding the bike with him);

remus being the first person sirius has ever properly said sorry to;

remus falling asleep on sirius in the common room, and sirius beaming because he’s been chosen.

lily and sirius things

both referring to each other as ‘james’ mistress’;

sirius using lily’s lap as a pillow as often as possible;

(therapy, philosophical talks, and ‘no stupid questions’ during lap pillow time);

sirius doing lily’s hair when she’s too pregnant and sick to do it herself;

lily’s voice adding to remus’ in sirius’ head whenever he’s about to do a dumb thing;

lily introducing sirius to her unborn child;

lily and sirius having animated conversations with her bump (and more embarrassing stories about james being shared);

lily becoming one of sirius’ go-to people, sometimes even before james;

lily calling sirius an idiot as a term of endearment, and sirius actually listening to her advice;

sirius never holding back when duelling lily at hogwarts;

sirius boasting to the order about how lily fared in a battle when they’d been briefly partnered up;

lily crying into padfoot’s fur over her relationship with petunia;

sirius opening up to lily about his relationship with regulus;

lily accidentally referring to herself as mrs. potter-black (much to james and sirius’ amusement);

sirius never being able to hide his feelings from lily, and cracking within 0.03 seconds;

sirius and lily sharing hair tips whenever they want the others to give them a moment alone;

lily talking to sirius about how terribly that dinner with james, petunia, and vernon was;

the warmest looking hugs known to man (despite the massive height difference), that get gentler and softer the closer they get, until sirius hugs lily the same way he would hug euphemia potter.

marlene and sirius things

arguing as a means of communication;

fashion queens who drink tea at overpriced cafes and judge the outfits of those around them;

(but also compliment them, because they feel bad otherwise);

sirius breaking into marlene’s home to steal her baking;

marlene keeping a window “practically unlocked” whenever she thinks sirius might pop by;

sirius and marlene bickering over who knows james better, which leads to a lot of james’ secret embarrassments being talked about;

sirius and marlene both saying they always knew james and lily would get together in the end;

sirius telling marlene he’s harry’s godfather, only to be cut off when she says she’s his godmother;

sirius and marlene spending six hours working out the logistics of which desert island they’ll be raising harry on should they need to do so;

marlene giving sirius terrible advice and worrying over it, and sirius always feeling better because of it;

sirius giving marlene casual compliments, and marlene holding them close to her chest (while saying she knew that already);

marlene braiding sirius’ hair when their bored;

sirius doing marlene’s toe nails with muggle nail polish;

marlene and sirius communicating to each other about others through pointed looks;

sirius owling marlene puns and bad jokes;

marlene and sirius being like brother and sister, and being fiercely protective of, and loyal to, one another.

peter and sirius things

sirius carrying wormtail around in his chest pocket whenever peter is too tired/sick to keep up with the marauders;

sirius and peter hanging out in the astronomy tower, not talking about anything too important, when sirius is having a bad time (he can’t be mad at peter);

sirius crawling into peter’s bed and cuddling him the first time they ever get drunk “because you’re so warm pete how are you so warm”;

sirius helping peter with his potions and charms;

peter helping sirius with care of magical creatures and herbology;

padfoot playing with peter when peter is having a terrible day;

peter not telling sirius who hexed him, and sirius pretending not to notice how upset peter is so he isn’t embarrassed;

sirius being genuinely confused the first time peter is shot down by a crush;

peter going to sirius for love advice, and never mentioning how absolutely ridiculous sirius’ advice is;

sirius consoling peter the first time they see remus shift on a full moon;

peter hexing snape before he has a chance to hex sirius, and getting a huge clap on the back for it;

peter telling sirius that regulus will come around, just you wait;

sirius comforting an incredibly (and genuinely) distraught peter after they find out james, lily, and harry are being targeted;

sirius wondering how he must have failed peter if peter betrayed them;

peter wishing he could take back how he’d hurt them all, but knowing he’d never be able to;

peter feeling like betraying his friends is worse than death.
