Do y’all ever wonder what it’s like to have a normal family? A normal life? One where:

Your grandparents are happy:

Neither drink

Neither are in poor health

Neither are abusive to each other

Your Tias and Tios are supportive and there:

None of them drunks

None of them snobs

None of them carrying scars from their service or past

Your parents who understand and love:

Instead of being locked in their own mind

Instead of being locked in their own vain

Instead of being locked in the past

You who is independent and strong:

Rather than keeping yourself locked up

Rather than living just bearly

Rather than loving everyone else before yourself

A normal life. A normal family. Where the grandparents worked their entire lives to retire and be happy. Where the Tias and Tios live productive lives to support their kids and were there for your life. Where the parents have their lives together so they could pass their wisdom onto you. Where you know when to draw the line between dependency and being a sponge to living an independent life in their home until you’re able to live a life alone.

If only life was so simple. If only life had normality.
