Mr.Karate is one of my favorite video game characters. He's literally a dude who does karate and wears a Tengu mask. They kind of ruined it with a back story in the subsequent games, but he's from Art of Fighting, a "shotoclone" (a fighting game that closely resembles Street Fighter II, a seminal game in the genre. The term originates from the fact that two of the main characters practice shotokan karate) that gained popularity mainly because of graphical gimmicks: characters accrued bruises throughout a match and the large sprites scaled in and out as you got closer and farther away. Although it had some interesting gameplay ideas (a meter for any special move, a character who couldn't jump but had very long ranged attacks), they were not implemented well. Also Capcom essentially made fun of The game with the character of Dan which i always found kind of mean. #artoffighting #snk #neogeo #shotoclone #streetfighter #videogames #drawing #tengu #mask (at Dunkin Donuts)

Another melty dude.
I feel like the non-creepy part of his face is from a dream, or some Flash programmer whose lecture I watched when I was sleepy many years ago... (at Triple Crown Diner)
