Does anyone own a Thinklabs One stethoscope?
I have a Thinklabs ds32a, which was discontinued in 2013. It was also a digital stethoscope, but much clunkier than the updated version the company is now pushing. Overall, I got a lot of enjoyment from it, but the eartips were rubbish, tbh. I can only imagine how easily they would've come apart if I were an actual medical professional using the stethoscope daily in my job. Both of them have come apart, so I attach the stethoscope to some over-the-ear wired headphones.
The cool thing about this Thinklabs One model is that there are no binaurals--it's just this chestpiece that you can attach to any headphones or earbuds. (You can attach it to wireless headphones, but you have to use the charging cord to attach them). I don't know if there's a way to make it bluetooth enabled without adding tech to it. That's what kind of bothers me--bluetooth should be a given in 2022 if the pricetag is $500 for the instrument.
It's a lot of money to spend, but I love the idea of listening and being listened to with just this piece attached to a pair of headphones or earbuds of the listener's choice. The headphones are worlds more comfortable than traditional stethoscope eartips. Though the traditional stethoscope is an iconic symbol to me (and not really because of its medical application...I just personally LOVE them!), what I really love about being listened to is having a chestpiece on all different places on my chest, and you can still get that feeling with this contemporary stethoscope, I'm sure.
So does anyone have one of these and likes it? Was it worth the money?
