Third Watch is an American crime drama tv series that aired from 1999 to 2005 over six seasons. The storylines center on the lives of police officers of the New York City Police Department (NYPD) and the firefighters and paramedics of the New York City Fire Department (FDNY), all working the same fictional precinct during the 3 pm to 11 pm shift – the 'third watch'.

Anson Mount plays Dr. Montville, a recurring character that appears in five episodes of Season 2, in one scene per episode (30 sec - 1 min). Dr. Montville is among Anson’s earliest roles; his first on screen appearance was on Ally McBeal the year before in 1999. Montville is a serious, no-nonsense sort of guy. We don’t know anything about him beyond his job of treating patients that have been brought in by the police. He gets to deliver a baby in 2x05 “Kim’s Hope Chest”.
