| Long post to explain the fantasy world to: @shctteredillusions |

Currently the fantasy world we use has 5 kingdoms and various other note worthy locations. Here’s a list with the kingdom names:

Kingdom of Makaia.

Sanizarox Empire

Urgell Union

Kingdom of Tolgeor

Kingdom of Lirione (still in the middle of creation)

Note worthy locations:

Indepedent border Island of Samari

Suiren, the floating city

(and a few more are still being worked on)

So, what’s the layout of the world so far? 

I like to believe that the Sanizarox empire is the center of things. To the east it’s connected to th kingdom of Makaia by a long bridge that crosses a sea. 

To the south of the Sanizarox empire is kingdom of Tolgeor.

To the south of Tolgeor is the Urgell Union. 

So basically there are 3 kingdoms underneath each other and then Makaia is off coast to the east. Currently Lirione has no place on the map yet.

As for the note worthy locations. The border island is half way across the bridge between Sanizarox and Makaia. As for the floating city, it is off the south east coast of Sanizarox/north east coast of Tolgeor.

| Sanizarox Empire |

The empire is ruled by an emperor named Alfonse. He has a young son named Apporro. Apporro was born out of a previous marriage, his wife unfortunately passed away. The emperor is currently engaged to a woman named Halina.

Under the emperor are 7 region head who coordinate their respective territories and answer to the emperor directly.

The empire is mostly know for it’s wealth, the acceptance of other races/non-human races and the varying domes that form the empire. From tropical beaches to windy valleys, snowy mountains to endless meadows.

| Kingdom of Makaia |

Makaia is a desert kingdom with raging sandstorms that have always made the task of map makers difficult to map out the kingdom properly. So far, the kingdom has only 3 note worthy locations. The capital, Palaido. The city of the brutes, Horn. and the ruins that form a mythical location.

The true successor of the throne of the kingdom is prince Kanon. However, his father, the king was killed along with his mother. Those responsible were a malitia that were no longer supporting the ways of the king and took over.

Currently king Alivados sits on the throne. An evil man who is power hungry and wishes to extend his reach to other kingdoms. Serving under the king are the following people:

Prince Kanon stands against this man and his puppets that serve him blindly. Prince Kanon wishes to reclaim his rightful position as crown prince. Following him are the following people:

They also hold a close bond with emperor Alfonse of the Sanizarox empire.

| The Urgell Union |

A place that was once stuck in time. A country filled by rich waters, seas and all it was used for was small fishing business. The previous rulers were incompetent and lacked vision of what the nation could be. A military mastermind named Marsha and her brother Marsz overthrew the government and installed themselves at the top. 

Over the course of years the place started to flourish, the brightest engineers stuck their heads together and started the production of factories. Large buildings along the coast and to the heart of the nation. Grounds rich of minerals, waters full of fish for merchants to sell. The next inovated step were steamboats. No other nation had progressed as far. Nobles from other kingdoms would move to Urgell to fund these inventions and see what the future could be.

Currently Marsha Wilder still stands at the top of the Union with her brother Marsz Wilder as her advisor. While nobles do have some influence, Marsha keeps a close eye on them so that the union won’t fall back to what it used to be and instead moves forward to what it could and should be.

| The floating city Suiren |

The floating city is a man made structure floating on the river and is connected to the bottom of it by nearly unbreakable chains. The people living on the floating city are almost all refugees from far foreign countries (which are not yet explored or named) 

The floating city has 4 rings:

The outer ring is for the shops and businesses such as markets and fishermen as fish is the main product of export. 

The second ring is the residential ring. All the lower and middle class people live there. 

The third ring is split up in 2 areas. One area holds the entertainment & red light district, the other half holds the upper class people.

The most inner circle is for the mayor and his police brigade that maintain order on the floating city.

The mayor of the floating city is an older gentleman named Sharuza who has a daughter named Milai. She is being groomed to take over hos position but against her will and also against the will of their head of the police brigade. This causes some inner turmoil within the highest of ranks of the floating city.

“Only because the law is holding you back.”

“I’m not THAT impulsive.”

“You sometimes nearly are.”

“Really Tosh? Really?”

“I actually have an entire list proving my point. Since I was eight.”

“Seriously?!”

“Somebody had to document all those crazy things you did. Just in case.”

“And you say I’m the weird one.”

“Your the reason why.”

“Okay, okay, another conversation for another day! Back to the real topic!”

“I’d rather skip this.”

“But wouldn’t that be cool? A pair of siblings having matching tattoos? Look at these designs!”

“Wait, where did you get that book?”

“The library. Yes, I go there sometimes.”

“I’m still not okay with this idea.”

“Just. Look. At. This. Page.”

“Y’know I don’t have my reading glasses on.”

“I’m pressing this book close enough to your face.”

“Gee. Thanks.”

“You’re welcome.”

“I thought that would fit us.”

“............... They do look nice...”

“A-HA!”

“That doesn’t mean I’m agreeing with this. You know that the process for it is not worth it.”

“No pain no gain!”

“That phrase is so cliche. Also can you take the book from my face now?”

“Only if you promise to at least think about it!”

“For the love of- Okay, fine.”

“Yes!”

“But you know you’re gonna forget about it by the time you turn eighteen.”

“I’ll take a picture of this page!”

“You’ll delete it after a month.”

“I won’t! This promise is way to important to forget!”

“I didn’t make a promise.”

“In the language of introverted older brothers, a consideration is as good as a promise.”

“Pffft. Really?”

“Aw, don’t deny it! Your smiling!”

“Nah, just thinking about how ridiculous you are.”

“Said. The. Pot. To. The. Kettle.”

“Stop poking me.”

“I. Will. Not.”

“Do you want to decide on what to order or what?”

“Meat. Lovers. Special. Pizza. Extra. Large.”

“Ah, no. I’d rather have something that won’t give me cardiac arrest.”

“Kill. Joy. Party. Pooper. Mood. Killer.”

“I’ll take that as a compliment.”

she was born royalty upon an island paradise, given to every whim or luxury a princess may wish, and everything should have been simply perfect, shouldn’t it? but palaces were rarely gilded with gold alone; hidden was the blood and sweat of the slaves who were forced into servitude, and that was with the best of the royal houses.

ariadne was not born to the best of royal houses.

the daughter of minos and pasiphaë was clever, said from an early age to bring her parents much honor and joy, although it seemed in hindsight quite obvious that someday she would be the one to bring it all crashing down. the first year she watched the tribute unfold, her tearful wailing all but drowned out the rites of the gods as the children were crushed to pieces by her half- brother. the next year, she raged at her mother and father for hiding their impiety behind rites designed to occlude the truth of what the minotaur actually was. the final straw was the death of the poor youth icarus, where she tried to escape crete and only through threats to her sister was she coerced into silence as she grew with age, for minos was a clever man who had held his throne for years and would not lose it to the machinations of a willful daughter. but she watched in silence, and waited.

the hero of athens was noble of brow and pure enough of heart to volunteer for tribute, but that was not what caused ariadne to finally act. she was less turned by his beautiful form and more by the strong sword arm he displayed. at any rate, her gift of a weapon and a guide finally took minos from his throne and ended her half-brother’s tortured existence. he asked her to leave with him, to return to athens, and she agreed, for what could remain for her in crete after she had tore its kingdom to the ground?

but she would not be so lucky as to find happiness in the marriage bed, and in truth, ariadne was not overly surprised to wake upon the shores of naxos alone with only the wind for company. she was a princess of an island though, and could survive for a time by the tricks her brothers had taught her to find fish in tidepools and fresh water from the streams near the beach. nor would it surprise her that so many would account her dead on that shore in later years when they wrote her story, or how many would get it so very wrong. even the great poet homer claimed that artemis killed her at the behest of dionysus, and he rarely erred so egregiously.

for when the chariot drawn by leopards came into the small clearing she had set up her camp, ariadne was still alive, and terrified for it was no mortal she looked upon, but a god. to stand against her father was undoubtedly a sin, and it mattered not that she was trying to right a wrong. there would be retribution, and it seemed swiftly.

yet she was mistaken, for all she received was a kiss, chaste at first for she was safe, and he was there to save her. he didn’t force her to be his wife, to be the goddess that women could pray to when they were to be married, when they were left behind by warriors or faithless men, when they were waiting upon the ferryman for their last journey. they called her mother, lady of the dawn, they evoked her name along with persephone and artemis as a protector of women and the earth. she interceded with those plagued with illness in their souls and minds, to bring peace and healing, she helped those lost in woods as well as their own thoughts, she defended the weak who had no defense from those who should know better. ariadne became a goddess clothed in starlight, wearing a crown forged out of a love she had never sought yet was gifted with by the god who was enraptured with her upon his first sight of her, near death on a cragged and stormy shore.

all because the young princess would not allow horrors to continue, all because she risked everything for a peace she knew would likely not be for her in the end. wife to a god, mother to kings, ariadne of crete did not expect to be any of those things.

she rose well to the occasion though, all the same.
