He was not happy. As a matter of fact, Pero was as unhappy as a horse that hasn't rested after a day's ride. He could hear the sound of your laughter echoing through the night camp and the friendlier the others became with you, the angrier he became with himself.
Oh yes, he was not angry with you. You could do nothing wrong, as perfect as sunflowers during the spring time. No, he was angry with himself. Furious, irritated, unbelieving. He swore he would never swear his allegiance to anyone else other than William, yet here he was, wishing with all his heart that he would be yours. He would beg if he knew that you would accept him as he was, an often-angry and violent man that found it difficult to show kindness and softness to others.
But you would never spare him a second glance, especially with that godawful scar that marked his face and made him even more threatening. You were too beautiful, too sweet and marvelous. There was a fierceness in you that he knew he would never see in another and it always shocked him how quickly your moods shifted when there was battle. One minute you're smiling, and the next is filled with a battle cry that shook the company to its core.
You were a star amongst the poor earth, and not one man deserved to look upon you.
When he could no longer take hearing you attend to others, Tovar left William's side and told him he would go bath in the nearby river.
"In this hour?"
"Mind yourself amigo yeah?" Tovar warned his friend as he took his sword and sack before he made his way down the river. Yet as he made his way past the bushes and trees, he couldn't stop thinking about you. Your sun-kissed skin, your bright, twinkling eyes, and those luscious lips he's dreamt of for too many nights.
Tovar shook his head to rid himself of you, hoping to find a sense of peace in the night waters. When he made it to the river, he placed his belongings on a boulder and began to strip, ensuring that he was all alone with the night creatures and insects before he took off his breeches and stepped into the water. It was ice-cold but it helped ease his pain.
But not enough.
There was still a fire ignited in his chest, a warm little flame that increased the more he thought of you. He laid on his back and allowed the water to help him forget even for a moment. Fluttering flew by and Tovar lost himself so much to the stream that he couldn't hear someone approaching his belongings until it was too late. He moved as quickly as possible, running to the edge of the water before the stranger grabbed his sword.
But as he wiped the water away from his face and focused on the figure standing next to the boulder, his heart skipped a beat.
You were here.
Why were you here?
"It's a lovely night...I wish I knew you were coming, I would have joined you earlier." You smiled at him as you picked at the leaves of the trees, trying your hardest to not look at his beautiful chest and his piercing eyes.
"What are you doing here?"
"Can't I enjoy mother nature as you Tovar?" You kicked a few rocks and walked along the shore, never once looking at him, afraid you'd offend him by accident.
"You should not be here." Tovar growled as he turned around and shut his eyes, silently cursing himself for never being capable of saying anything kind to you.
"I disagree amigo, I think this is right where I'm supposed to be." You retaliated and used his back turned to you as an advantage, quickly stripping of your armor and clothes before slowly stepping into the water.
"Ohh god, h-how can you st-stand this water? It's f-f-freezing." You whimpered when the water came up to your chest and Tovar turned around immediately, eyes widening in shock when he saw you approaching him. You were wearing nothing and he turned away from you as soon as he caught glimpse of the curves of your breasts.
"Hermosa...you, you shouldn't have come in." His voice shook with uncertainty and you swore you saw vulnerability flash through his eyes but no. Not Tovar. Right?"
"And w-why is that?" You splashed water at him and giggled when his frown returned again.
"Because it is cold." He tried to reason with you but you stepped closer to him, making him swim away from you quickly.
"You're here!"
"And dark." He said again and cursed when you followed him deeper into the water.
"The moon is enough." You pointed high enough before wetting your hair and coming back from
"And dangerous." He came to a halt and prayed to whatever higher power existed that you would swim far away from him before he did something he regretted.
"You'll keep me safe." You whispered right from behind him and Tovar felt a shiver run down his spine when your hand rested on his shoulder. He was shaking with need and fear, and he didn't want you to see him so unhinged. So desperate. So in love.
"Tovar...you're shaking. Perhaps we should get out and-"
In the blink of an eye, Tovar turned around and took both of your wrists in his hands, twisting you around in the water until your back was flush to his chest. He never once let go of your skin, instead wrapping his arm around your neck and pulling you back until you could breath just enough.
"You are not safe from me mi amor." He whispered into your ears and before you could question him on his behavior, he pushed you away and began to swim to the shore. Little did he knew that you were just as quick as him and before he could step out of the water, you were grabbing his wrist and pulling him back in until he dipped below the surface.
When he came up for air, he was engulfed with the touch of your skin and the faint scent of your hair. His eyes bore into yours and saw your fury, your fearful fury that he wished he could never be at the receiving end of.
You were about to bite his head off when you looked into his eyes, truly took them in, and noticed something you've never seen before. Something you prayed for day and night and wished to be granted. Something you gave up on ever since William told you of Tovar's past.
Letting go of his wrist, you raised your hand until it rested on his cheek, the other softly tracing the scar on across his face. You weren't sure if it were tears rushing down his rosy cheeks or if it was water, but it didn't matter because he was...he was-
"Can you not see how my heart longs...aches for you?" Tovar whispers when he feels you step closer to him and he whimpers when you lean up and meet his lips in a chaste kiss. You pulled away far too soon to his liking but he never opened his eyes, afraid he was dreaming in his tent and that you were nothing but the ghost of a spirit.
"And do you not see that I've given it to you ages ago?" At your words, he wrapped his arms around you until every inch of your skin was against him. You smiled when he lunged forward and claimed your lips far rougher than before and as he tilted his head and controlled the kiss, you found yourself falling more and more in love with him.
"Te amo mi amor."

ahhhh this was supposed to be jealous sex with Tovar but I got soft...I guess I have to surprise you with another part then that gets a little more frisky ;)
Oooh!! Look at this!! I've been attacked!! 🥰 I think characters just reject anything but softness when they realize they're coming into contact with me... 😖 I accept full blame for this...
You'd never been more beautiful to Tovar than you were in that moment, bare before him in a way that extended far beyond the physical. His eyes swept over your face... taking in the sight of the moonlit water droplets that clung to your skin and twinkled like jewels... the plump and damp flesh of your lips, begging him for another taste... the love that shown in your eyes, brighter than any sun could ever hope to be...
"I love you too, Tovar."
You loved him. You loved him. His mind was spinning. In his arms, he held the only person he'd ever truly loved and you loved him in return. His hand broke the still canvas of the lake as he raised it to cord through the damp strands of your hair, tilting your head slightly so he could press his lips to yours.
He kissed you with fervid desire, drinking your sounds of pleasure straight from your mouth like he needed them to survive. His hands caressed your skin, leaving trails of fire in their wake despite the frigid water in which you were both immersed. He was owning you, body and soul, and you gave it all to him willingly.
Despite your bodies being less than a hair's length apart the whole time he kissed you, he managed to maneuver you both out of the water and onto the mossy shore of the lake. Tovar reluctantly pulled his lips away from yours to lay you carefully down in the dew covered moss.
"Hermosa..." the word breathed reverently as he lowered himself to his knees between your legs. His hand gently brushed your damp skin, sliding up your calf to your thigh with aims at going higher until the snapping of a twig in the distance shattered the moment like glass...
