I don’t think it’s just about Jinx killing Caitlyn’s mom, but the fact that Caitlyn could have stopped Jinx from doing so. She just didn’t.

'Everything passes through, sooner or later... your time too, Radovan. While you are waiting for days and minutes of your life to pass, you are realising that your whole life was farce, lies and mistakes. You wanted so much, but got so little. It hurts, I'm sure of it. It's not easy to watch how weeping mothers have smile on their faces. It hurts to know that Banja Luka is in Bosnia, even worse the fact that Srebrenica is still alive! The fact that tomorrow from Australia to America all Bosnians and Herzegovinians can't wait to see your face in a pain. There's a lot of us mashAllah, but you threatened that we will disappear. The fact that Džeko is scoring goals, Mirza scoring in basketball and Denis making movies - kills. Adnan is slapping, Hifa and Bingo are killing it. Merlin still sings and Bosnian villages are more and more alive. I believe it hurts Radovan. That much of a happiness in your name [Radovan, radovati (verb) - be happy, celebrating] but that much of a sadness in your soul. I forgot to tell you I'm from Srebrenica and I want you to live a long life.'
Fikret Hodžić - author of a book "I'm from Srebrenica"

Tiny Desk Concert.
Love to see these ladies killing.
EVERYONE on this track is afab. Horns. Bass. Drums. Yeeeeesssss. LOVE IT.
Once upon a time women were actively rejected from common jazz spaces with maybe two or three exceptions we couldn’t play with the dudes (vocals is the other exception - but, rly? Cool. Thx)
That historical exclusion particularly for poc afab and women has a legacy that we feel in every jam session and every rehearsal we walk into (have you heard the one about someone at a recording asking Esperanza Spaulding which band member she was dating - she was like, I’m the bassist, this is my album).
But aside from all that, listen (LISTEN) with your whole soul to what they were excluding. Listen to the rhythms, the cohesion of lines, the counterpoint and form… HEAVEN.
Jazz was and is freedom music. Hip hop is its child. And women/afab, well, we are its creators. Its goddesses. ❤️
holy shit
