Me + My Shadow <3
New Life, New Blog, New York
2012 was an eventful year. I graduated from seminary (WSCAL for life!), met my girlfriend, and received a call to plant a church in Queens, NY. Looking forward, I feel that 2013 will be an even more significant year. I’ve already headed out east to begin a new phase, and I believe that when I look back on my life, 2013 will stand out as the year where long-held ideas and dreams became realities.
Now, of course a part of me hopes to look back on this new phase of my life and talk about how successfully everything went, and how perfectly everything worked out. But there is no guarantee of either of those things, and that is not where my hope ultimately lies. Every journey is unique, but I hope that my experiences, both good and bad, would be a platform by which other church planters, and those involved in or supporting a church plant, can dialogue about this often anxiety-filled but awarding adventure. I want to document these years so that the church will have a record of how one church planter went about establishing a new church.
Whatever the outcome of my own journey ends up being, my hope is that the church is blessed. Whether I fail or succeed, I hope my story is helpful for those who are going through this process with me, or for those coming after me. So, this blog seeks to accomplish three goals: inform, inquire, and inspire the audience at large.
Inform: I hope to inform and update my financial and prayer partners on the ongoing developments of my church plant.
Inquire: I hope to engage with the Internet community, Christian and non-Christian, on... everything! This blog is not a means for me to to only express my thoughts, but also to hear and consider the thoughts of others.
Inspire: I hope this blog inspires people to pursue their call, whatever it may be. I hope this blog inspires people to pursue Christ.
Here’s to the start of my new life, new blog, and New York. Here’s to hope.
Let the journey begin. #TIQ
