14. WALLPAPER
Wallpaper is one of the most FUN music projects to ever come out! Eric Frederic (aka RICKY REED) is considered to be somewhat of a Bay Area legend having been in the underground music scene for yeeaaars. I still love his older band Facing New York (now defunct) which was one of the most inspiring experimental rock bands I have ever seen & heard.
Facing New York was like the creative precursor to what would come (which started off as a performance art joke) in the form of Wallpaper. Wallpaper is boldly Pop and Dance Music with a Hip Hop savvy and Punk Rock attitude.
I’m not sure if Wallpaper is even active anymore, considering Frederic branched out into becoming a producer for other artists. Currently Wallpaper stands still as more music is being released under the Ricky Reed moniker.
At the end of the day - Wallpaper is an explosively colorful dance party that has a hidden genius at the helm. Frederic successfully pours endless amounts of heart and soul into the songs as Ricky Reed and the music is profoundly stylish (with ironic flair).
Definitely one of the most unique & fun groups around!
