This means you were super busy a year ago. You could be doing nothing at all right now except binge watching Beef 2, but a post like this will create the illusion that you’re busy right at this moment! July Talk X: re-recording of the entire Touch record that I worked on 10 years ago, as well as the addition of 10 b-sides that we ‘touched’ up. Former engineered by yours truly. Canadian Pick: THOMAS D’ARCY

Thomas D’Arcy ‘fools us twice’ with his second album, but the joke is on him cause this is something you sure will enjoy!

D’Arcy, previously well known in the Toronto music scene with bands like The Carnations and Small Sins, has transitioned into a solo career, featuring his strengths as a singer-songwriter and producer.   

With some British rock and pop influence, this record jumps from modern to vintage throwing nice surprises along the way.

Toronto electronic duo Young Wolf Hatchlings certainly had me, hook line and sinker, with their new single You Lovely You (YWH version). The duo started as a team of up and coming producers working out of Dream House Studios in Toronto, a spot known for recording work by the likes of The Weeknd, Crystal Castles, METZ, and many more. I have a deep love of Toronto’s music scene despite never having visited the city (and only having recently learned people call it Tdot). There are so many amazing acts that came from that city. Add Young Wolf Hatchlings to that always growing list, thanks to their entrancing and electrifying music. You Lovely You is a high energy, buzzy re-working of Thomas D’Arcy’s You Lovely You, complete with futuristic swells and Sleigh Bells like levels of scuzzy noise. The acoustic strings give the track a soulful playfulness like that of acts like Broken Back and Milky Chance.
