The day-night cycle in Far Cry Primal greatly changes which actions the player can perform, with many predator animals actively hunting the player when night falls. However, the game provides enough tools to the player (such as fire) so that night doesn’t outright prevent them from carrying out their tasks, and in fact, many rare animals can be best hunted when night falls, and they come out to feed. As such, the game reinforces its own systems by pushing the player to master their environment, rather than simply being dictated by it.
