Some old Concept Art I never shared. Made this in 2021 I think? Sadly, at the time my passion for TDC was fading, but writing these stories even if I was their only audience was one of the best experiences of my life. And I definitely want to share them again at some point. Especially with a redraw of these old comic thumbnails. Maybe a SkeklingAU revival? Who knows...

This concept was for a potential arc taking place when SkekAth (The Linguist) was a teenager. Specifically while he was maturing into a young adult and getting to the point where he’d soon earn his official title. Already adept in politics, charisma and knowledge, one last thing and that was survival and combat. As a part of a long string of coming of age rites, he would learn how to survive on his own in the wilderness if he were to be a worthy Skeksis, and more importantly (Unknown to him) an arm for the skeksis. A young weapon of war to help snuff out the resistance against them. And his final trial after learning how to face the harshest environments of Skarith? To fight alone. To overpower and outsmart his foes by having a one on one fight with one of his mentors, The Garthim master. If he could shove him out of their makeshift arena, he would complete this trial of combat. If not, upon their return to the castle, his training would be for naught. Seen as nothing but wasted potential, With a lot to lose, and his lord’s favor on the line, a teen SkekAth prepares for a sparring match he’ll never forget.
