✤ to share a drink or snack with my muse // Oropher had yet limited movement, but thought that Thranduil should learn how to show true gratitude for someone who'd saved his father's life ; despite the strange, confusing, at times agonising situation of it all. So Oropher tilted his head towards Maglor, silently encouraging Thranduil to share the nectar that he'd gathered from wildflowers. A practiced activity for the duo named after grand forests. Still, Thranduil cannot help his show of whole reluctance when he brought over a wooden cask that held a sweet honey from the earth. ❝ My adar ALLOWS you to use this. You can sweeten your food, or cure meats and fish. Whatever. ❞ his lips were downturned.

˗ˏˋ 𝐈𝐓 𝐅𝐄𝐋𝐓 𝐒𝐓𝐑𝐀𝐍𝐆𝐄 that the sun could still shine so brightly despite the bloodshed that had happened and was surely happening in this very moment not far from Amon Ereb.
Days had stretched into weeks, and Maglor was relieved to see Oropher healing well & the twins slowly emerging from their shells.
They sat together on a blanket spread across the grass, Maglor reading sweetly to them, Elrond in his lap while Elros was behind him, weaving his hair into a ridiculous mess of braids and knots that would take hours to undo later. He was the very picture of a loving, doting parent ; a life that should have been his, far better suited to his gentle spirit that longed to protect and cherish rather than destroy and kill.
When Thranduil approached carrying a wooden jar of sweet nectar, Maglor glanced up & smiled fondly at the rather disgruntled young elf.
❝Oh…! What kindness from you and your adar,❞ he said warmly & with surprise, reaching up to receive the offered gift while casting a brief, grateful look toward Oropher in the distance, silently acknowledging that the Sindar lord had orchestrated this kind gesture.
❝I am most grateful — but I believe the best gifts are those we share. I imagine this would be perfect for honey cakes.❞ His smile brightened as he looked from Thranduil to Elrond, who visibly perked up with delight at the prospect of Maglor making honey cakes, while Elros now busily braided grass stems into Maglor's long black locks.
❝... Ow. Ai, Elros, I will be spending the next century trying to comb this out...❞ A long-suffering sigh fell from his lips, but he made no move to stop the boy's... enthusiastic styling.
