Ani's body curled itself into a ball, and she clenched her eyes closed, searing through the sky like a star. After what seemed like an eternity of falling, she finally crashed into soft ground. Her body wouldn't move, searing pain slowly settling in as she lay there in the small crater in the ground around her. She shook, eyes still closed as she whimpered in pain.

Tauriel couldn’t help but flinch as she was shoved against the wall, confusion and a hint of fear in her expression as she stared up at the king, wide-eyed. “What have I done to displease you now, my lord?” she asked after a moment, the initial shock having worn off.
