Title: Ballet
Muse: Eve
Eve tightened the ribbons on her pointe shoes. She took a deep breath, looking around the large room. She hadn’t seen such a large dance studio in… well, ever. The one she’d learned to dance in wasn’t even this big. It gave her a feeling of freedom knowing she had more space to move in.
She turned on the radio and closed her eyes as she got into position. One, two, three, one, two, three.
Eve launched herself into the dance, not even bothering to open her eyes. She knew the routine well enough that she didn’t need to see what she was doing in the mirrors. The angel moved with inhuman grace and elegance. She began a fouetté turn, carefully counting the beats.
But then, the sound of clapping rang through the room - and broke Eve’s concentration. Her eyes shot open. She stumbled, but caught herself before she could fall. She looked up at the person sheepishly.
“Er… Hi,” she said awkwardly. “I was… I was just practicing. Did you need the space?”
