Surprisingly, the first ones to greet Hyuna when she returned to Mount Phoenix were the dead. For the first few days, she only talked to them as she slowly began adjusting to her life here again.
Once she settled in again, her relationship with the dead was as before. When they needed her, they found her, and she did the same. Sometimes they liked to annoy or scare or prank her, but she was used to that.
Today, Hyuna was needed. She’d been on a jog through the park when a young man approached her, the aura of the dead around him, with a pleading expression in his eyes. And, because she was a nice person, she stopped and ushered him aside so the people passing wouldn’t notice her too easily. After all, no one else could see the dead, apart from a few exceptions.
“Okay, okay, listen, I know that you need help and I’m going to help you, but you really need to stop approaching me out in the open, yeah? And on my day off, too...” She sighed, but attentively listened to what the dead man had to say. “Your sister? Alright, yes, I can do that, but... wait, wait, where does she live!” He had started to move away, so Hyuna had to run up to catch him, when she noticed someone else watching them.
Someone who looked confused enough that she figured they couldn’t see the man whose arm she was holding. With another sigh, Hyuna turned back to the dead man and said, “Okay, I’ll find her and... yeah, yeah, I’ll do that. You’re welcome.”
Once he was gone, she gave the stranger a half-smile. “I must look pretty insane to you right now, huh?”
