David had been back to Wolflane Bar every night for a week. Him frequenting bars wasn’t uncommon, but what was, was the fact that he barely drank while he was there. He’d grab one beer and sit there all night, constantly looking around and at the door. Hoping to see a flash of blonde hair or that brilliant smile. He had been kicking himself all week that he never asked for Nicolette’s number. He wanted to see her again, even if it nothing happened, he just liked being around her. Which he would definitely deny if it was brought up.
He was about to give up, accepting that maybe she just wasn’t coming back. He finished his drink and went to stand up pulling a pack of smokes from the inside pocket of his jacket when he heard the announcer say, “give it up for Nicole.” and then a familiar voice quipped back, “it’s Nicolette.” He spun around to see the woman he couldn’t get out of his head on stage, holding a guitar. He slowly slid the smokes back into his pocket and sat back down. Not really caring about the small smile that was on his face.
