Mission Task Board: For the last several weeks, hunters from a nearby village have been going missing without a trace. The villagers have warned them of the local folklore, that the forests of the region are protected by spirits sent by the Goddess herself to ensure that the land has time to recover and grow in the springtime rains… You set out to investigate these disappearances, but as you step into the woods, rain begins to fall. The report Garreg Mach received from the neighboring village was concerning. Disappearing hunters just as the spirits in the forest are recovering from the cold winter? The spirits must have taken them!, said the village chief. Daddy, I’m scared!, said the little girl that was listening in when the adults were talking. Further mentions of the spirits came afterward, and now they’re here to find traces of those taken by the spirits. Please be careful, they might take you too...! Ooooooh. Spoooooky.

“I’m tellin’ ya, Blue. Those hunters are just out there hidin’, waiting for investigators to pop up, and then, they mug ‘em. Been there, done that. It ain’t that original.” Gaius stands by the path leading into the forest and stares into the quiet and empty wilderness in front of them, wondering what kind of trap befell them. Spirit stories were so old school! It’s beast stories that were popular now-- or it was some months ago, but it’s Spring again. Maybe the giant beasts didn’t exist anymore...
He turns to the Exalt, a confident grin on, “I bet ya five cakes we’ll find their tracks before sun down.”
