worry was written all over her fact the moment nia came through the door, her hands tugging her girlfriend toward her and wrapping her arms around her. "baby, what happened?" she asked softly. "i thought that we were going to tell him together…" she paused, "i didn't want you to have to face him alone." she finished, pulling back just slightly and cupping her face. her eyes scanned over her face and she was worried to hear how her brother had reacted but she knew she had to be there for nia. shifting, the woman tugged her toward her couch so that they could comfortably talk about things. "is there anything i can do?"

of course, giovanna had met yara before and she was more than sure that the teenager knew what they were but she and nia had discussed making sure their relationship was completely out in the open for everyone to know. after all, now that grant knew, there was really no use in them hiding things. that didn't mean that she wasn't nervous though, to officially take this step in being introduced to yara as her girlfriend. looking at nia, her hand squeezing her out of nerves. "how do you think she's going to react?"

since the news of her relationship between her and nia had been exposed to her brother, she'd been doing whatever she could in order to give him the space she was sure that he wanted. even so, she knew she couldn't avoid him forever, which was why she pushed herself to stop by his place. knocking on his door, she sighed. "grant, please open the door. we need to talk..." though, at this point, she wasn't sure that he wanted to talk to her.

the woman would be lying if she said she hadn't looking forward to seeing nia all week. it was almost like a count down to a vacation. just as exciting and she was sure it would be just as fun, even if it were just for the evening. despite the two of them agreeing on a time, from the moment people started crowding in, she kept looking for nia. once the other finally showed her face, she couldn't help but to smile and come around the bar to properly greet her with a hug. "i was beginning to wonder if you'd change you're mind." she teased, "i'm glad you came." she added.

there was an obvious connection between Giovanna and Nia, even so the two of them had decided to keep things on the down low until they properly figured out how to break all of this to grant. Which was why Giovanna acted as though she ran into Nia without having been looking for her in the first place. She bit back a wide smile, “Nia,” she breathed out and moved in for a hug, “I didn’t expect to see you here.” She lingered longer than she normally would and they both knew that was a lie. They’d planned this but she liked to think she was a relatively good actress. As she pulled away, she took a deep breath. “Try anything good yet?” She asked, her eyes never breaking away from the other’s. She wanted to believe she was being slick but after their night together, she couldn’t stop thinking about her and she wanted nothing more than to push herself closer to her but she held back.

she leaned against the bar, eyeing the other that came in on one of the more important nights in devil's junction. after all, she was surprised to anyone outside of that charity event but she'd be lying if she said she didn't enjoy the company. "so, why didn't you go to that event like everyone else? or did you go and skip out early? as much as i love dressing up, i'm not a kiss ass kind of girl, so i figured skipping out on this one was for the best."

giovanna was getting ready to close things up when the other walked in, "not tonight, kai. i'm closing up. i'm getting out of here for the night and you can come back in for a drink tomorrow. i mean," she paused as she pulled her hair out of the jacket she'd just pulled on over her shoulders, "shouldn't you be out at that charity event or something? i figured you'd want to be there to save face for the zhao's or something." she walked toward the door and nudged the other out, "or was there something else you needed from me?"

the club was relatively quiet due to the fact that most of her regular patrons were attending the charity event. she was stocking the bar when she heard someone's footsteps, which in turn caused her to turn and further approach the counter. a smile graced her lips, "did you skip out on the charity event already? is it because of the cheap liquor?" she asked, tilting her head to one side. "i can't imagine they splurged too much when it came to helping people. they're just trying to make themselves look good. anyways, first one's on me. what are you drinking?"
