he hadn't stepped foot in prohibition pete's since that night that he got into it with aarti. that was mostly because he was trying to avoid conflict and he assumed that it was better for business that way. his assumption seemed to be correct, especially since he was supposed to meet with cian so that he could taste test some of his wine and potentially sell it at the restaurant. he was waiting for him to arrive when aarti walked in instead of cian. cocking an eyebrow, he smiled. "ah, come by to get some more of that wine i gave you?" he asked, slowly moving toward her as he did so.

blind dates weren't his thing. then again, dating wasn't his thing and not because he didn't want to but because he just wasn't good at it. he was waiting outside of rizzo's diner, hands clasped in front of him while he waited for the other to approach. things like this always made him a little nervous that he was going to be stood up, especially when he didn't know much about the girl. his eyes continued to watch the people passing by but paused once he saw someone walking toward him. "you wouldn't be shivani, would you?" he asked, offering a small smile.

jesse was determined to get them out of there. this wasn’t the first time he’d been chased down by the cops and he was sure it wouldn’t the the last. cops loved to break up their races but it was just that this was was the first time he’d ever had anyone with him. he smiled over at them, playing it cool as he always did. “bet you didn’t expect this to happen when you climbed into the car tonight, huh?” he chuckled as he took a sharp turn in attempt to get away from the cops. things like this didn’t bother him. in fact, if there was one thing jesse loved, it was an adrenaline rush.

it wasn't all that ordinary for the man to go out for dinner. the vineyard and his home both quiet this time of night, and he didn't always enjoy the silence. showing up at a place he rarely stopped at, prohibition pete's, he sat himself in a corner booth as he would at any place he walked into. it gave him a view of the entire restaurant and who would potentially approach him. it gave him that sense of security he felt that he needed while being a resident of devil's junction. he was scanning over the menu when he was approached, "sorry, i'm still looking. what's good he-" he stopped as he glanced up and recognized the woman. the mere sight of her left a bitter taste in his mouth and while he didn't want to be rude, he also didn't want to deal with her. "is there someone else that can help me? the owner? a janitor?" he wasn't her biggest fan, that's for sure and he had no problem letting her know that.

he assumed that now that things were on better terms between the two of them, that jesse could actually walk into prohibition pete's without feeling as though aarti was imagining his demise. slipping onto a barstool, mostly in hopes to grab her attention, he smiled. as one of the other worker's stepped in his direction, he shook his head. "actually, i was waiting on aarti. i hope that's okay." he knew how much of an asshole that he came off as last time and he didn't want to do the same to this person. "it's…business." that wasn't necessarily true but he thought the added comment might help his case. finally, he caught her eye and gave her a friendly nod. "you ever take a night off?" he joked.

"i need you to help me understand the mind of a woman," because he really didn't understand the back and forth between him and aarti. "i mean, i was an asshole and i know i was but i apologized. she even accepted my apology but this woman still doesn't seem to like me." and he wasn't even sure why it bothered him the way that it did. after all, it's not like aarti was anything to him. still, most people liked him and there was something about the other not liking him that genuinely bothered him. "it's not like, you know, i have a crush on her but i just don't get why she's still upset."

"so," jesse started, his hands on his hips as his friend approached him, "i saw that cowboy friend of yours making his way into a jewelry store earlier this week. someone finally tie him down?" it wasn't any of his business but they both knew that jesse could be a little nosey, especially when it came to devil's junction. "i just mean, ya know, i always kind of thought the two of you would end up together but seems like someone else caught his attention."

it'd been a while since the two of them had set a time to meet up and he figured that he might as well invite his friend out. after all, he had some down time and it seemed as though he did too. why else would he agree to meet up with him? waving at the man to catch his attention as he walked in, he offered him a smile. "i was almost wondering if you were going to stand me up," he teased, a smile playing on his lips. "first round is on me but before we start, how have you been?"
