I mean… well yeah, then he stopped and told me to just go ahead and do it and that he wanted me to, but it wasn’t really because he wanted me to – he was super ticked off! I’m gonna stick with what he said before – that he doesn’t want to have a dare like that done to him – and hey, you guys better leave him alone now, okay? Whether he wants me to or not (’cause I’m pretty sure he hates me), I’m gonna watch his back and make sure nobody puts stuff in his fur or takes his clothes anymore. Enough’s enough, alright? “It’s not like anyone wants to be around me anyway. So what does it matter to you?” He asked crossly. He ignored the man who was nearby and wanted nothing to do with him.

“Just go away. I already know why you’re here.” He did. He had been the target of lots of dares already and he was starting to feel quite a certain way. He wouldn’t admit it and he wouldn’t dare cry or act up in front of them all. He was already feared and he didn’t need for them to have more of a reason.

“Just go back to your friends already.” He said with a gruff and looked away from him, setting his gaze back towards the water.

Denahi wasn’t sure what he was expecting by greeting the Beast. He hadn’t spoken to him personally, but everyone Denahi knew was a mix of curious and intimidated by the guy. He could see why, though -- he was huge, and strange, and didn’t come off as very friendly. But instead of seeming scary or mean, Denahi thought he seemed... miserable. 

He wasn’t the wisest kid around -- really, he was probably a little dumb -- but Denahi could put two and two together. Being stuck at a camp where nobody wanted to be around you wasn’t much fun. He had said it himself, in his flimsy greeting to the Beast. 

Rather than actually going away though, Denahi stepped out from behind his tree and trudged along down the small hill to the lakeside to join the Beast. He didn’t stand quite next to him -- that seemed like a breech of personal space in regard to a guy who could snap him in half like a bendy straw -- but he stood along the waters edge a few feet away.

“I guess the guys were pretty loud, huh...? I’m sorry. I won’t do it if you don’t want me to,” he said, assuming the Beast must know the entire dare, if he ‘knew why he was here’. That was embarrassing. He nudged a rock a bit with the tip of his shoe. “I got laughed at a lot, too, when I first showed up at camp. You can make friends faster if you take on dares, though, even if you end up acting pretty silly. It’s like a rite of passage sorta thing. Did you ever think of trying one?”
